It is so sad to see such a hugely talented guitar player, Helen Ibe, not only losing her mind but posting videos online that leave no doubt that she has completely lost touch with reality and is edging perilously closer to outright madness. This talented guitar player got married and moved from Nigeria to Florida two years ago, where she initially seemed very happy. Things have obviously changed for the much worse with her now.

Helen Ibe is a different person from the ever-smiling beauty of just a few years ago. She has lost a lot of weight and now has busied herself recording YouTube videos in which she is spouting absolute nonsense about imaginary people following her. This is an easy question to answer. Helen Ibe is a phenomenal guitar player and I love her music. She never hit the big time in Nigeria like Davido or Wizkid, but that is simply because, in Nigeria, guitar players are not the major stars they are in say Congo.

I play guitar at a mediocre level, and love nothing more than to play my heart out while vaporizing some quality weed at home, BUT, I would never make a dime as a musician with my limited talent, therefore guitar playing will never be more than a secret hobby for me. Knowing how difficult it is to master the guitar, gives me a greater sense of appreciation when I hear people who can REALLY play like Helen Ibe and others too many to mention.

Could be drugs. Even weeed can trigger a psychotic break. Or someone is trying his/her best to drive her insane.

Weed is legal in Florida and if Helen Ibe never touched it in Nigeria then tried some high-THC strain for the first time in Miami, she could have her sanity tested for sure. Besides, the cannabis sold in those legal dispensaries is often tainted with insecticide residue, meaning anyone not prepared to grow their own weed, had best quit altogether, regardless of where they live in the world, and for the same reasons.

My layman's speculation is that Ms. Ibe's guitar playing, as soothing and polished as it is to hear, was not earning her enough money to make a decent living amid the glut of highly talented guitar players that can be found in all cities coast to coast USA. I listened halfway through a couple of Ms. Helen's recent paranoid-sounding videos, and noted there was hardly any mention of her American husband. The fact that Ms. Ibe was pouring her heart out to thousands of total strangers online, and divulging her darkest irrational fears, suggested that the husband was not offering her support both in financial and emotional terms. Equally alarming is the woman's drastic weight loss.

Before her departure from Nigeria, Helen Ibe ranked among Nigeria's top three FEMALE guitar players, and I grew to love her jazzy, George Benson style of crafting melodies. But YouTube fame does not always equate with global stardom, and one can only hope that these non-music related videos being posted by Helen Ibe do not draw the wrong kind of attention in today's America. Say no more.

Helen Ibe's downward spiral into utter madness continues unabated in a recent YouTube video she released. It would not be a surprise to learn that Helen Ibe, once a rising talent in Nigeria's music scene, is now homeless in Florida. If any of her family members care for this woman, now would be a good time to try to get her back to her home in Nigeria before she kills herself while in the throes of this madness that is consuming her in Florida.
