Chief Abeg no laugh me o🤣. Before a man builds a tower, he needs to sit down and count the cost.

I want to know if I can buy panel with other accessories once or if I can buy other accessories and buy panel later.
That’s why I needed a rough estimate on the accessories.

Please can anybody help me know how much it might cost me to get the LG panels and other accessories I need to get this done asides installation?🙏🏼

I want to know the budget I’m looking at. Thank you so much🙏🏼
What he means by LG is fouani. Fouani stores are plenty in Lagos(check their website for location). Also the brand of Panel is Jinko. So go and buy Jinko panels of the advised sizing from fouani stores.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Tekenny: 1:21pm On Mar 20, 2025
650k to 750k
The target is mainly for the day no matter the weather condition of the day my laptop should be on from 8am to 4pm . Others are minor just for light at night

Thank you very much @valto.

This should be a total of about 800k to 850k including accessories.

Please will this size of panel be enough for me even on the worst day of the year to power my laptop for 8 hours (8am to 4pm)?

Valto:
best option
12v 1kw hybrid inverter with 40A mppt +12v 1.8kwh lifepo4 lithium battery =590k
then 1pcs of 650w panels from LG

Hybrid and non hybrid which is better?
I prefer hybrids, especially the ones from good brands. Cheaper and cleaner. Some prefer non-hybrid, everybody with their own.

dollarnaira:
You cannot guarantee the cc in some hybrids.
A working system and satisfaction is RE.
BUT I doubt if a 1.5kva can power a 120w freezer?

Yes the 100ah 24v is good also not just a fan of all these wanna be hybrids. If at all am upgrading it either growatt or growatt.

In my opinion, 12v 200ah and 24v 100ah are same.
My 200L freezer starts up at ~800w, then drops back down to the usual 110w. As long as the 1.5kw is actually 1.5kw, it should be fine I guess.

Please can you give a system break down for me on my items below (budgeted system that can maintain efficiency for 4 years minimum) . Please

1 laptop of 50w
3 Phones
Fan of 30w
5 LED bulbs.

From my calculation, I will be using 1240watts (1.24kw) daily approximately
Probably the only setup I'd actually recommend 12v for since your power demands are so low.

1.5kva hybrid
12v 100aH lifepo4
700-800w of panels

If you buy used panels and Cworth's cheaper battery you can build this with like 800k.

I found another installer he said I'd need another panel to add to it. Even after showing him your sketch.
thank you dollarnaira, your own no go spoil( no pun intended ). I have everything working great. I get 700w right now with the weather ( it rained yesterday).

That set up is even lower than 12v if there is anything of such.

An ordinary 23ah lithium ion powered a 32" tv for 7hrs without sunlight. I know of a family living with this but with a single 200w panel, pwm cc, and 500w msw Inverter.

They go to work and return at night when they needed it most. Na inside dem dey charge their phones and 1 laptop plus occasional blending. You see bro, our demands for energy differs, na how u take use am na im b d koko.

Some persons earn great salary but envy those who earn less but spend wisely.

How u take use your 12v during your time bros? grin

My yield is not even upto 700w and my battery is full now.

N.B: Am not against 24v and higher o. You get the gist bah? Na so!

So deep freezers can surge up to 800w omo. Do you have any idea of Welion 1.5kw 24v hybrid inverter? Is it really up to that capacity? It comes with a 40amps Mppt cc inbuilt, surge is up to 3kw and maximum pv input is 1200w.

I absolutely agree. Energy needs differ, and people actually tend to overestimate the amount of energy they need.

I have no hands-on experience with Welion inverters but the specs you've listed look fine for the installation you posted. Post the MPPT specs if possible (voltage range, max VoC).

Hello my people.

Please does anyone know the OEM of this charge controller? Can someone also please share the manual.

Thanks.

30-150v is the voltage range. I don't plan to use solar panels with it for the moment anyways as I get 18-20hrs of light daily save for like once a week due power failure. One more question, if I get say 7kwh lithium battery and I don't discharge often due to excessive light, will that be a problem to overall health of the battery?

Just try to use the battery once every couple of months at least. Lifepo4 can handle storage for months.

Hello Sirs,

Please can you recommend an Hybrid inverter with Pure Sine wave output. I present use a 24V system.

Mine surges to 1.2 kw sometimes when you ON it before going back to 125w. So, knowing the surge your system can handle is crucial. It is a chest freezer.

Cool. The solar panels can also be gotten from there. Make sure they are above 600W each at least.

I hope you know that "grid tied solar" means you are out putting your excess back to the grid. I belive it not possible in Nigeria yet. I guess you meant you want to run a system with input from mains or grid
People use grid tie solar inverters in Nigeria to reduce expenses on diesel (they get to run smaller diesel gen) and reduce NEPA bills. Though the organisation that often go for it are mostly those that run during the day eg banks, schools, etc.

They incorporate a GTI to their system to help reduce utility billings and reduce expense on fuel. They don't have to necessarily sell back excess power to the grid (as Nigeria currently have no such feature in their energy distribution system).

If it's truly 500ah battery will weigh close to 52kg (equivalent to some 200ah lead acid battery).

China sometimes just goes crazy with their specification grin
