Two different incidents.
Are they actually trained professionals?
Cos ,lot of people call local electricians for reconnection purpose.
Necessary PPE ought to be used for such high level jobs.
May their souls R.I.P
It's called occupational hazard, it happens even in big multinationals

Things go wrong when they decided to go wrong

This news sounds like impersonation to me...

How do you work on the electrical lines.. without taking outage from the control room..
Or ensuring that feeder is open... Before mounting up the leaders...

Also no safety gears as reported...

He killled himself....

How can we confirmed whether it's a legal reconnection?
This isn't to confirm or not, the most important thing is Safety first,
Beside those discos are as corrupt as a wee, they will ask you to pay before working on it,

And when you don't they will leave it like that, then give you an estimate nonsensical bill next month

RIP to the departed

He was actually on a legal duty, the operator that restored electricity to the area was at fault, I know the electrician in person his name is Oluwole and he was a very jovial, merry dude

He was on legal duty, he went for the fixing with EKEDC operational vehicle. His office was aware and I still can't wrap my head round how the power was restored knowing fully well someone is working on a pole.

So the Disco could not switch off the transformer before he started working?

because not everything make Frontpage in other countries. But here in Nigeria 🇳🇬 we open our mouths waaaaaaaaaah and say everything happening in our country both good and bad. Other countries hide the bad and let the good news out.

I knew this guy before his demise, he was well known and cool headed someone. There is more to what you people are reading here on Nairaland, he is a professional in this field, he is not just working like that with his team solving power outage problem within Alagomeji and ebute metta axis, according to what we heard he usually called to put off light before he start any work, but this very good night while he was doing his thing the light was intentionally put on by an unknown staff that we are yet to identify.
Everybody love him but God love him more than us, he has come and go, he as played his part on earth. May God grant his Family and the entire Alagomeji environment the heart to bare the lost Amin 🙏

Cos it was an illegal operation.
Which NEPA staff do you see working past 7pm.?
Once it's dark .they stop working..
If it's urgent . you'll see them but the feeder would be switched off and padlocked just Incase.
This was an illegal solo run..

How many deaths was recorded during dangote refinery fire disaster?

Was it not because proper HSE training was conducted.. that prevented casualties?
