Ikaeniyan0:Does Russia have the right to invade and annex part of Ukraine? 😂 The tanker in question formed part of Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet”, an illegal network of dilapidated vessels used to smuggle oil at prices exceeding the £60-per-barrel cap imposed by international sanctions. These ships are a danger. Germany was entirely within its rights as a coastal state to stop likely catastrophes that could wreak devastation on the Baltic Sea and its economy. What’s the harm in that? We call them rogue ships. Putin employs them for illegal operations to finance his war against Ukraine. Germany is simply upholding the sanctions agreed upon by the EU, G7, and other allies.
