During a global broadcast service, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the Senior Pastor and founder of Christ Embassy, emphatically declared, "No one has cheated the church more than the music industry."

What about pastors that use tithe and offering brought by poor members to buy private jets, build schools for the rich and move around with armed security while their members live in poverty, find it difficult to send their children to the school that was built with their own money.

Ever since Righthussle posted on Nairaland that "Whoever or whatever made the universe does not and will NEVER EVER EVER NEVER need your money for A N Y T H I N G whatsoever. Instead of giving your hard earned money to these thieves, use it to feed stray dogs on the street.", i stopped giving money to these thieves.

If you are singing for God, you shouldn't ask for a charge fee. If you are given rewards then it's fine.

He talked about people leaving the church to start singing on a solo career and also about pastors leaving the church to start their own. Now ask him if he was born in Christ embassy, did he not learn the ropes from another church and pastor(s) before veering off to start his own?

Many in church from Top to Bottom, are guilty of same offence - MAKING A MERCHANDISE OUT OF THE GOSPEL.

Pastor Chris had always supported the music industry. Seems he's seen what we ain't seeing

No one has cheated Christianity more than Nigerian pastors and Daddy GO's.

Money that should be spent on the poor and needy is frittered away on Pastor expenses like costly flights, hotels etc.

and if you are preaching for God you shouldn't be asking for a reward or expect or collect any reward in any form, you shouldn't be acquiring any material or financial possession on earth, you should be aiming for heaven only ?

I guess Pastor Chris was referring to music artists, possibly an indirect dig to Chinwo and other gosplepreneurs he's had close contact with.

Music ministers understand the reason you invited them and they must be paid because they are very special in you guys minds and add value to the ministration. You pastors have singers in the church but still go ahead to invite special singers to entice the people. You pastors and people blame the government for mismanagement of fund but you do the same by spending church money on overated gospel singers.

The ignorant once will start talking. Nobody supported those gospel artist in Christ Embassy like anyone else. We are not talking about 10,20,40,50 millionaire gift that pastor Chris do give to them. None was paying their house rent. Pastor Chris takes care of them until they think that they have grown that they won't listen to him again.
How can you charge money to come and sing for God, to come and praise God. Does that makes sense at all.
