Osimhen is a greater goalscorer than Haaland — Former LALIGA star places Super Eagles star above Man City's ace.

Former striker compared Victor Osimhen to Erling Haaland, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe.

Osimhen received high praise from Turkish football commentator Nihat Kahveci, who believes the Nigerian is a greater goalscorer than Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

Since becoming the Premier League’s record holder for goals scored in a single season, Haaland has earned a place among footballing greats. His name is synonymous with goals, and for many, he is the best player in his position.

For Nihat, however, Osimhen, who is leading Galatasaray's charge to the Super Lig title at the expense of Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce, is a superior goalscorer.

What Nihat said

The former Real Sociedad star credited the ability of the likes of Ronaldo and Haaland to score at an incredibly prolific rate; however, he believes Osimhen's overall contribution places him on a similar level.

"Names like Ronaldo, Mbappe, and Haaland can contribute to 26 goals in 30 matches. Osimhen's contribution is incredible. When we look at his contributions on and off the field, his contribution to his teammates is very high,” Nihat said, per GsGazette.

“We don't just look at the issue from a scoreboard perspective. He says he represents Galatasaray very well; he helps his teammates when they are out of form.”

The praise continued for Nihat, who believes Osimhen is unique, as he is different to other top strikers who have joined Super Lig clubs in the past. He then made the stunning claim that the Nigerian was a superior goalscorer to Haaland.

“These are all exemplary characters. When we look at it from this perspective, he is different from other goal scorers who come to our country.”

“His sense of belonging, desire, desire, passion are very different. He made a generation a Galatasaray fan. Icardi did it, Osimhen continues. In my opinion, he is a greater goal scorer than Haaland."

Osimhen is the current top scorer in Turkey with 20 league goals, two more than the next best, Kristof Piatek. He scored a brace yesterday to help Nigeria beat Benin Republic and keep their World Cup ambitions alive.

I've been saying the same thing for years, I'll pick Osimhen ahead of Haaland strictly because of overall game play. Osimhen will score goals and assist tbe team in other departments. He has very good hold up and link up play which, when you add to his pace under a manager like Arteta or Guardiola then, you've hit a perfect cheat code for years to come

In Haaland and Man C. worst season Haaland has 21 goals in premiere league and 29 goals total as of today.

In one of Galatasaray and Osimen best season so far, Osimen has 20 league goals and 26 goals total in a far lower league.

So where is this comparison coming from.

Osimen can be better, he has room to improve, perhaps we will see him reach his high potential when he joins Arsenal or replace Salah in Liverpool.
