Good morning everyone, hope this message meet everyone of you well. Please I'm here to seek everyone's sincere opinion and advice most especially the professional ones in this group.
She should evaluate her degree preferably the masters and start preparing to write her Ielts ASAP with the aim of maxing it. You should do same too. Also, the Education category based draw Noc codes should be checked and see which one she fits into since she is a teacher. Then create a profile and hope she gets either FSW-CBD or PNP draw.

Reluctantly wrote another Ielts end of 2023 and entered the pool again, this time using the Trade CBD Noc code instead of Stem as I was performing both function and then Boom I got Ita.

No trade certificate needed... the Noc has been removed but if you are in the construction industry, check the new noc codes for trades and see if you fit into one.

GraciousWords:
100%...........just compare 2018 to now, % increase in the 461-600 bucket is in the thousands.

Looks like COVID-era CEC draws also led to student numbers rising, now former students with PGWPs are flooding the pool.

My advice to anyone whose NOC is not in demand would be to bite the bullet & learn French (additional CRS points wise and money wise) - not easy at all but it's the most rationale choice now if you look at the options coldly.

With French you'll still be ahead in 2 years time than someone who went to Canada as a student and completed a 1/2 yr degree and has 1 year Canadian work experience (CRS grid facts) and will spend far far far less money, especially now that the Student POF (excluding tuition & travel fees) is doubling from Jan 2024 and PGWP extensions are ending soon.

Alternative is to pivot careers and get a job in an in-demand NOCs even if only for a year (for PNP and FSW CBDs)

There's always the chance of a miracle but prepare like there's none on the horizon. Stay hopeful, pray that the odds will favour you more often than not, but please do the needful.

All the best guys!

Hi guys, what is the realistic timeline for visit visa from Nigeria? I am aware of the recommeded timeline on IRCC website but I'm just trying to weigh my options between applying for visit visa for my wife or wait till I have enough proof of funds to apply for spousal sponsorship. Please advise

Hello everyone,
Please I really need help
I’m trying to create my express entry profile and I’m experiencing some confusion.
I worked as an admin assistant for two employers and the total is about 2.5 years
I was also a caregiver for a period of 1.5 years
The problem is that I got to this part of the express entry profile creation.
In the last 10 years, how many years of skilled work experience do you have? It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation.
(required)
What should be my response here?
They said “only one occupation” but I’m supposed to use two noc codes
Please how do I go about this?
Please

In the last 10yrs, pick one out of the two to use as primary NOC. In all, you have 4yrs experience

Okay so for this part of the express entry creation, I should put the total number of all my experience?
Not the number for one occupation?

I was confused because of the “only one occupation”

If it's not too much ask, what's the full meaning of all the acronym. I only know ITA - Invitation to Apply.

Thank you

Hello, my family (me , wife and a child of 3years) just got a second invitation to apply after our first application was rejected because we could not provide one of the employers references letter in which we claimed point.
While we were submitting this new application, IRCC included a biometric fee payment for just one person.Meanwhile, we already did biometric last year September 2024, myself and my wife.
Is is normal that IRCC asked us to make payment again for one person biometric application ? Thanks in advance

Wow, your refusal just came in time before your 2nd ITA. See God.

Lots of resilience. Happy you were able to get your POF up in time. Congratulations 🎉

Hello everyone,
I am trying to submit a PR visa application to IRCC via the AIP program route.
In 2023 I applied for a canada visit visa, which i was refused due to insufficient fund.

I remembered, I stated in my SOP that i will be returning to my family(wife), who is a nursing mother and only work four hours a day as an online instructor

In my endorsement application form, I declare her as unemployed, since the AIP route is solely about the principal applicant meeting the requirements.

Now that we will be submitting our PR application, do I need to submit a LOE stating she offer a voluntary service teaching as an online instructor. Which is not a paid job(unemployed) or I go ahead and submit the application without explanation letter.

Considering IRCC will always check your previous application for any contradicting information. Your advice will be appreciated
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by vickgrad:
I must say, this platform has been more than helpful.
I finally got my passport back with the visa stamped today!

I Submitted Via VFS Lagos – Pros & Cons
Pros:
It is cheap (provided it’s the same VFS where you did your biometrics).

It cost me 0 Naira to send and receive my passport for stamping.
Note: I submitted and picked up my passport myself, so I didn’t require additional logistics or door-to-door delivery.

Cons:
It is freaking slow! If you want a faster option, consider sending your passport to Kenya or directly to Ghana. However, understand that:

You will have to pay a transmission fee of about 33 CAD, since you're submitting your passport to a different VFS from where you did your biometrics.

In addition to the 33 CAD transmission fee, you need to cover DHL or any courier logistics for both inbound and outbound delivery.

My Full Timeline:
Event Date
Acknowledgment of Receipt 23-Nov
BIL and MIL Request 17-Dec
Medical Passed 22-Dec
Background Check: In Progress → Completed 27-Feb
Eligibility: Not Started → Completed 27-Feb
Ready for Visa Email 27-Feb
Passport Submitted to Lagos VFS 28-Feb
Passport Arrived at Abuja VFS 05-Mar
Passport Arrived at Ghana VFS 07-Mar
Passport Arrived at IRCC Ghana 07-Mar
Counterfoil Issued 19-Mar
Decision Envelope Returned to VFS Ghana 19-Mar
Decision Envelope Returned from Ghana to Nigeria 20-Mar
Decision Envelope Arrived at VFS Lagos 25-Mar
Collection Email Received 25-Mar
Passport Collected with Visa & COPR 25-Mar
To everyone on this journey, I pray you get what you desire and make no mistakes.

FAQ 14

Yes 4 years in total...healthcare plus admin. It's your choice which one you use as your primary NOC (read up on category based draws CBD and the criteria please - healthcare may be preferable if it is within the last 3 years). You need ref letter for both healthcare and admin if you are claiming CRS points for both.

Pls study page 1 and the links there in detail.
