Rivers State: Thank You Mr. President. by Whalis(op):
My dearest President HE A. Tinubu,
I want to use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to your timely intervention in the overcast cloud of anarchy that had canopied Rivers State political atmosphere.I remember one of Duncan Mighty songs where he said the best time to separate a fight was during the quarrel stage. Thank you for using the wisdom due experience and age to intervene in the Rivers State political quagmire. The HoA wanted Fubara to alight from his high horse to present the budget. Fubara had an ego he wouldn't want ruffled.
The political actors had turned what is glaringly a political difference into tribal war with threats of House members of Ijaw extraction getting their properties damaged.
Not only this, there were threats of the resumption of oil pipeline bombing and vandalism which cumulated in the bombing of the export terminal last week.
It was truly a period of uncertainty and laden with a gloomy outlook.
If this intervention took place in 1962 the upheaval as it occurred then in the western region would have been nipped in the bud.
Rivers State is calm now. Everyone has returned to their everyday business even the suspended governor was in church today including members of the HoA.
You have the support of the indigenous Rivers State people in anyway you might apply to enshrine if not a permanent peace but a lasting peace deal in the political difference. I want to assure you again that most of the noise you hear online are mostly not from people of the state. Most are not living in Rivers State.
Thanks HE.

My fellow ikwerre brother, meka ooo!
I beg to disagree that majority of those making noise are not indigenous Rivers people. The fact that we are peaceful doesn't mean we accept the unilateral bias declaration of Mr. President. He has no power in the constitution to suspend a democratically elected government in a federal system of Government. No body would have challenged his position if we are practicing in unitary system, where the central government is superior. This precedent should never go unchallenged in the court. For there to rest this political imbroglio, Wike should have been suspended too.

Permit to asked you this question. How would have Rivers State received allocation this month? If they didn't receive allocation wouldn't it have led to Anarchy?

Tinubu did a good job. I hope the executive and legislature will work hand in hand to move the state forward when they resume.

Bros, I did not disagree with all that u said, the most important thing I highlighted is that for there to be peace in the polity, wike deserved to be suspended rather than the president taking side with him. Declaring a state of emergency without suspending a democratically elected government has been the precedent not this new version from Mr. President

Wike should be suspended for what?. As a Governor or as a Lawmaker in Rivers?

Wike's actions are behind the scene. He's not a recognised party in the political imbroglio and as such can not be directly tly punished. Was Wike a party to the suit at the Supreme court?
