Nuking Mars is a stupid plan and he knows it. Secondly, Elon might have said Mars will be the second home for humans but I think he is lying. Billionaires all over the world have everything except TIME. The exploration of Mars is a way of buying Time. Let me explain further:
The number of days a planet uses to circulate (round) the sun shows the change of days, weeks, months and years which also affect the aging process. So if it takes 364 days to add a year to human on Earth it will take 80 days in Venus. Now imagine Mars!!!
This is relative and doesn't change anything

TIme itself is relative so unless you figure out away to extend life and by that time, you cannot beat it.

Lol @ the bolded. This argument is flaw. That a planet takes 80, 365 or 600 days to complete revolving around the sun does change the concept of time itself. I think you are misunderstanding why “One year” or “one day” on mars is different from that of earth.

Your error is from the misunderstanding of the concepts themselves, the time a planet takes to revolve on its own axis is recognized as a day. The time is takes to go round the sun is recognized as a year.

You can be told something like one minute on earth is 4 minutes on mars. It just based on understanding of what makes a day and a year. Planetary revolutions. That does mean time itself is not absolute.

There may be other factors that could help us live longer, atmospheric conditions: gravity etc. however I strongly believe man would live out his usual earth lifespan no matter which planet he goes, that is if the conditions of that planet does not affect his health adversely.
Exactly.

Please note the term used usual earth lifespan.

I just told you why a year and a day is different on each planet and why it doesn’t equate to “time” itself being different.

I guess you didn’t bother to read. Oga leave movies and face real life. For time to actually be different in the real sense, you need something that can bend or alter reality itself, which there is no concrete proof of any. Even black holes having the capacity to alter time is just a theory.

Lmao I can just imagine you arguing in a crowd about science based on your knowledge of “movies”. TF!
We had a long discussion on time travel some time back. Lol. Same thing.

ADOLESCENCE......9.5/10

I loved the long continuous one-takes. Great directing and execution. Creative way to use such narrative style which is mainly popular with action films.

What can I say about the show??
It's a wake up call to parenting and the important role parents play in shaping their kids and the impact of social media and content kids consume online go on to shape their personality and behaviours. It's a brutal social commentary as this is a very touchy subject and one to drive division.

The TV show ADOLESCENCE just brought to the fore how these little programming could look harmless at first until you start seeing the manifestations of social engineering and social media. Jamie was consuming online red-pill Andrew Tate alpha-male content alongside his friends till little by little those teachings started shaping his personality at a very young age. The parents failed to take note until it's too late and now everybody suffers for it. Whether it's the victim or the perpetrator's relatives, no one was spared.

To realise this is actually based on real life events even makes the experience more surreal and haunting. Bruh, words can't say how far gone that boy of just 13 yrs old has deeply sunken into the pitfalls of toxic masculinity. What some might even tag the 'incél community'. A 13 year old boy having such strong convictions to even harm a fellow kid? Damn. Even using gaslighting tactics to absolve himself of his sin? At some point I began to doubt if this was a kid or an adult.
That's some Psychopáthic traits right there. Whether Jamie was an upcoming psycho or just a casualty of toxic red pill teachings is left to the psychologists to decide. 🤷🏽‍♂️

This is hands down arguably the best TV show to have come out this year so far and I can see the reason why literally ALL my feeds was pushing this film to me for a week. Top tier stuff right here. British cinema just keeps gifting me some gems lately and I'm all hear for it.

And, Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty continues to show up more in my screens after their lovely performances in A Thousand Blows. Luke Graham's top tier acting was a centrepiece of the show, while Doherty gave us a great supporting role to help to "understand the understanding of Jamie's Psyche". Just about 40 minutes of screen time in a 4-episode show was more than enough to deliver a scene-stealer.
And the Jamie kid actor— Owen Cooper......Damn! What a performance. Easily the most impressive kid I've seen in aeons. Perfected the role like a true method actor. Dude has a prime future ahead of him, if he keeps up like this.
ELITE acting chops right here, from the main cast to supporting to even the most minute cast member.

The writing of the show is just pristine and unique it draws you in from the very first minute. Top tier storytelling and an important piece as a social commentary drawing attention to a creeping danger in the shadows of society and the impending chaos to follow.

Just like Baby Reindeer that came out of the blue last year, this one has premium potential and will probably nab some nominations if not certainly win some categories. Best Limited Series is surely a go and The Penguin finally has great competition. Netflix just got its hands on a winner.
Absolutely PHENOMENAL.

The Wheel of Time Episode 4

So far, I think this is the best episode yet for the season, they keep raising the bar. I enjoyed Moraine's time in the Rhuidean, like a literal wheel spinning and seeing every possible outcome.

Rand's own was also good, him walking and experience what and how his ancestors came to be, slight issue I had was Rand's face coming up severally in this ancestral walk, like how many persons can actually resemble you in your lineage/history. Anyway, it's negligible.

We move.

My theory about Rand having the same face with his ancestors is because, they're one and the same person.

It's several incarnation of Rand. That's why Lanfear keeps choosing him in every incarnation.

I saw the show in bits, This probably placed my view of the show on 2 extreme polar ends.

Episode 1, 2 and 3 was arguably one the best piece of tv i have seen in a while....it was just top shelf stuff...The Episode 4? I wasn't exactly a fan of it, because the subject matter was too important, and at this particular time, to be left on an ambiguous ending, imo, anyway.

From a production standpoint, it was brilliant story telling, narratively and thematically speaking, The one continuous shot take was done brilliantly that you wouldn't notice, it was various scenes, stitched together to give that exact illusion...just brilliant, in the same class with The Bear's "Fishes", GOT, " Battle for the WaII", and Mr. Robot's eps3.4_runtime-err0r.r00.

The performances were stellar! Owen Cooper as Jamie was just a top tier casting, he had to compete with 500 boys for the role, he sent in one demo tape, and got the job instantly, this was his first role, making it all the more impressive and Stephen Graham is always kills his roles, and he seems he loves one continuous shot media, see "Boiling Point" (2021) if you haven't!.

My critic of the show was that, they could have had more episodes to eliminate all ambiguity and land a satisfying end. Jamie insisted on his innocence despite damning evidence, he should have had his day in court, him saying he was gonna plead guilty felt rushed and didn't provide any further clarity on a subject matter that has lead to a toxic atmosphere where certain men and women hate each to the point that there is a long wedge. Secondly, I felt the Victim's perspective could have been explored more, remember Jamie accused her of goading him as an Incel. If definitive proof/conclusion was given if Jamie really did Off her or not, it could had lead to a more balanced story imo.

Plus, and this might totally be a culture thing, I thought 13 year old, was a little bit too "over the top", for a subject matter that heavy and graphic in nature.

I don't think it was a true life event as i read somewhere the show runners took inspiration from the rising knife violence in the UK, but the story was 100% fictional.

Anyways, it's a bold and brilliant show, and an easy award magnet. 🧲 👏🏿

Yeah, Owen Cooper was phenomenal and it's a surprise it's his first acting gig. Real talented and I hope to see more of him.

Yes, the victim's perspective could have been explored and given more details and balance as to their relationship and power dynamics. I most especially felt this with that dramatic black girl (who looked hilariously older than ALL the kids in the school and gives me naija vibes) whom assaulted Tommy on the school ground. I felt what's her deal could have been more elaborated and from there we know how Katie was like. But they never took that route.
I felt it was a way to laser focus on the perpetrator and less on the victim. Most likely it's a slight play in not giving any chance of doubt or justification for Jamie's deeds. Cos like it or not some people are always gonna side with Jamie using the angle Katie was also "a piece of shit" to the boys and in some way deserved it.

The showrunners obviously didn't want to elicit that support or stoke indecision on who's wrong or not.

But all these are a bit negligible with how well they handled the rest of the story as did little to impact the quality.

On the 13 yrs old involved in violent criminality....I also felt it was a bit overblown and could have been in the realm of 16-17yrs old.
Yeah, it was an amalgam of different violent knife attacks in the UK and the overlying theme which is fueled by online toxic masculinity — "Manosphere" and violent misogyny.

It's a brilliant way to elicit interest in a touchy subject and I think the 13yr old age was use to good effect to shock people into a reaction and awareness of the impending danger.
If it was a 17yr old I don't think people would give it this much thought or awareness. It's a wake up call, that even little kids ain't spared in the mentality warping and disinformation of the extremist red pill community.

It would be taken with levity with an older kid as 16/17yr olds involved in crime ain't as surprising no more as it would seem back in the good ol' days.

The ending is ambiguous but I feel it's brilliant all the same.... making it open to interpretation by each viewer. It forces you to really think about the show and its themes. It forces you to face reality with that ending, you work out the ramifications it has on everyone and the community involved yourself.
That way the message and its warnings stays with you for a long time.
Because obviously we know that boy isn't escaping time in prison especially with Psychologists involved trying to understand his psyche.
You yourself as a viewer would be forced to be enraged if you think for a second that Jamie has the possibility of escaping a tough sentence with a technical loophole like pleading insanity or behavioural disability.

So that way it forces you to try and be more vigilant with your kids and wards— even if it's for a week or two after watching the show....cos you wouldn't want such fate befall any loved one.

And that's probably why the showrunners and even the British government are campaigning for the show to be shown to all kids in British schools.
This is so winning BAFTAs left and right.

And this is what you actually call a brilliant social commentary. One that actually forces action or reaction instead of being on the pedestals of "art" imitates life.

Maan, You are spot on with the age bracket choice. A 16 - 17 Year old bracket, wouldn't have elicited a wider and sustained outrage and call to action, like it is now. It might seem a norm for 16 year old upwards to be this delinquent, but 13 year olds? Totally means our society is broken and totally cooked.

Children as young as 7 year old, are having access to the Internet and social media, and there is no greater influencer of a young mind still forming, since the turn of the 2010's like social media and the Internet, so much so, Social media Influencing are now seen as economically viable career paths!.

I see why, philogynists are praising it and why misogynists are annoyed, but it's show everyone should see.... brilliant, brilliant, work of art 👏🏿👏🏿

I see why, philogynists are praising it and why misogynists are annoyed, but it's show everyone should see.... brilliant, brilliant, work of art 👏🏿👏🏿
Bruh, the TV show made me remember an incident that happened 2 weeks ago, a few days after Ramadan. I remember over-hearing kids discussing with their adult neighbours and/or parent(s) — moms— while I was doing some chores in the backyard, suddenly something caught my attention in their discussion. It was the mention of one of the girls stating her love for one of the TV shows she's just started watching and how "e sweet die".

What really struck me was when one of the girls said there was g@y_ characters present in the show. What dawned on me was that I've actually come across the show due to my weekly chronically TV and movie downloads across online pages. XO Kitty was the name of the show and I never would have guessed it had such LGBT themes because it looked like the usual PG family oriented fare.

One of the women chastised the kid on hearing the g@y_ comment saying in Yoruba "Na there them know you".....and the kid had the audacity to even ask the woman whether she knew the meaning of g@y_. Na there I open my mouth.... these kids actually thought their parents weren't knowledgeable to know the meaning of g@y_ thinking it was a big word only the "educated" was privy to and the social programming associated with TV. The kid was chastised later on, but not too seriously.

But that scenario left me scarred what kids these days are exposed to and the erroneous thinking some of us has towards such content thinking these kids brains aren't as developed or nuanced to pick these things because of their young age. But that day was an eye opener because by the voices of the kids I could place the age of them around 11-13 yrs old. And the way the little girl was talking about the show and it themes, the LGBT_ stuff looked normal to her and she's grown accustomed to it.

So, here lies the close watch and responsibility parents have in shaping these kids and their decisions or orientation later in life. Because, mehn, the future go too bloody with the content these kids are exposed to.
