| Akpabio Must Be Impeached: Nigeria Cant Be Led By A Man This Incompetent. by Asonaijaaso(op): 2:39pm On Mar 24, 2025*. Modified: 3:42pm On Mar 24, 2025 |
By every constitutional measure, every moral lens, and every institutional standard—Senator Godswill Akpabio has failed. He has abused his office, mocked the law, insulted Nigerians, and demeaned the Senate to the level of a motor park caucus. The Fubara Fiasco: Democracy as a Joke More than 100 hours have passed since the Senate allegedly endorsed a motion to suspend the democratically elected Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara. And yet: • No signed list of two-thirds majority has been released. • No video evidence of a quorum reached. • No constitutional process has been followed. • Just rumors, allegations, and a disgraceful attempt to use the Senate attendance sheet as proxy consent. That’s not law—it’s legislative forgery. This is not a banana republic. This is the Nigerian Senate. Yet under Akpabio, it has become a brothel of compromised principles. A Pattern of Disgrace: Not Just Fubara Let’s not forget: • Budget padding scandals tied directly to Akpabio’s manipulation of appropriations. • The unconstitutional suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi, who dared expose it. • The unresolved sexual harassment allegations from Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. • Akpabio’s disdain for decorum, ill-prepared speeches, and emotionally unstable outbursts in chambers. • The increasing whispers that he is using executive-backed dollars to buy compliance—reducing senators to pawns on a board he barely knows how to play. Let’s Be Honest: Akpabio is Not Fit for Office Not intellectually. Not ethically. Not emotionally. This man does not have the discipline, depth, or dignity to preside over Nigeria’s highest legislative chamber. If Akwa Ibom insists on producing another Senate President, let them—but not this one. Akpabio’s tenure has been marked by chaos, shame, and the steady erosion of constitutional governance. This Is a Call to Action The Nigerian public, civil society, and the minority caucus must now demand one thing only: Immediate Impeachment Proceedings Against Godswill Akpabio. No more committee dodges. No more press statements. No more “settle it at the back.” The integrity of the Senate and the future of Nigerian democracy are at stake. The longer he stays, the deeper the rot. Akpabio must go.

Full Text of Section 305(6): “A Proclamation issued by the President under this section shall cease to have effect: (a) if it is revoked by the President by instrument published in the Official Gazette; (b) if it is not approved by a resolution of the National Assembly supported by two-thirds majority of all the members of each House of the National Assembly within two days after the proclamation is published; (c) after a period of six months has elapsed since it has been in force; (d) at any time after the approval of a resolution under paragraph (b) of this subsection, if the National Assembly resolves that the proclamation should cease to have effect.” More than 100 hours after the Akpabio-led kangaroo session, Nigerians still have zero objective evidence that a quorum was formed or that 2/3 of senators approved a state of emergency. The Constitution mandates two-thirds of the entire Senate, not a louder AYE or NAY voice vote. Akpabio’s interpretation dangerously swaps mob noise for constitutional legality—a reckless, illegal precedent. Until names and numbers are published, this vote is null, void, and an insult to due process. |

VnAhunnaPl:He is not only incompetent he is also guilty of: 1. Constitutional Subversion Deliberately undermining the supreme law of the land. 2. Abuse of Legislative Power Using authority outside the bounds of legality for personal or political gain. 3. Treason Against Democratic Principles Especially when it erodes checks, balances, and separation of powers. 4. High Crimes and Misdemeanors (in impeachment terms) Violations that erode public trust or the rule of law. 5. Legislative Coup When votes, rules, or procedures are rigged to subvert the intent of the constitution. These are all offenses he has inadvertently committed. Constitution said 2/3 of senate not AYE and NAY Voice vote. For a reason. |

helinues:Lets call a spade a spade. This is the most ignorant Senate president in Africa. Constitution said 2/3 of senate and he turned it to a voice vote. Thats subversion of the constitution. That is a crime. He swore an Oath to abide by the constitution. He has broken that Oath. |

| Re: Akpabio Must Be Impeached: Nigeria Cant Be Led By A Man This Incompetent. by Asonaijaaso(op): 3:03pm On Mar 24, 2025 |
helinues:The Nigerian Senate cannot be led by a man who fails to distinguish between a voice vote and the constitutionally required 2/3 majority of the quorum needed to declare a state of emergency. Trivialize it all you want, but Akpabio lacks the intellectual capacity to effectively lead the Senate. |

helinues:What good is a Senate president who doesn’t understand the difference between a 2/3 quorum and a voice vote of AYEs and NAYs? Akpabio either doesn’t know the difference or intentionally bypassed the constitution, which is a breach of his oath and potentially treasonous. He has clearly broken that oath. |

If Akpabio was the Senate president during OBJ regime, he (OBJ) would have easily gotten the third term he sought for. |

helinues:If you were mentally competent, you’d realize I’m speaking as a member of my family, leading this protest. But Nigeria’s educational standard has plummeted so much that even someone like Akpabio—along with yourself—can’t grasp what a 6-year-old would understand. Instead, you come online to showcase your own ignorance. |

I agree with your writeup 100%. But I dey pity for you OP. I count 6 of them here, including that used pad wey hell and anus dey for im name. Them don already start application of reverse psychology over your facts: 1.dem don call u sponsored by Elrufa/Atiku Fulani terrorists 2. say make your family lead the impeachment protest 3. Akpabio is doing well. He is the best Senate president Nigeria has ever produced so far. 4. Akpabio is one of the best Senate president we ever had.The guy is just too solid. 5. You don become your Lordship. 6. Ekuke don better pass you. 6. You really fit do this work wey you don collect money for ? You better no chop the money incase you no succeed oo. Asawana go come for you oo. Na this last one, na im conclude their propagation of reverse psychology as they are already accuse you of taking money to publish the facts on Akpabio incompetence. They are accusing you of doing something they are already guilty of doing. Just note them, na APC bots. Na dem be that P for APC, Propaganda. No ever make a write up and engage dem, they are not worthy of your kb. Note how they never once even engaged you intellectually regarding the facts of your writeup, they did not even try to disprove the facts abt the vote nor the list of the senators who endorsed the SOE, nor how Akpabio is innocent or guilty. They just shift the goal post and start asking your family to lead the impeachment process. They just want to paint you black by any means necessary without even talking about the facts of your writeup. Instead of attacking the message, the messenger gets a stray bullet, that's their normal strategy. They know Akpabio is guilty of all the points you enumerated and more but their salary and survival is in cahoots with anything Tinubu being painted in a negative light, so while licking Tinubu ass, a new task came up to lick Akpabio ass clean and dry. That's what they have been doing since when Akpabio prayers started appearing in Senators mailboxes. |
