What's with all these foolish coaches not using a a natural left footer as left back? Ola Aina would have done better than Osayi as RB and a left footer in Onyemaechi, would have done better as LB.

Our players played like they had burnout.

The coach also is mad. Unless Oshimen is injured, he should be playing full mins.

Ekoong totally responsible for that goal with that terrible defending.

That's why experience is essential when appointing a coach. He shouldn't have removed Osimhen when it was a slim win.

Just one good cross from Ola Aina's left, we scored. Imagine many he would have crossed if he had played as RB. He was struggling at LB.

We were so poor in front of goal, missing begging chances. Disappointing.

There's no way South Africa will bottle this group. And if we finish second, the chances of progressing are very slim considering the caliber of teams we'll clash with in the playoffs. In essence, we are about to miss world cup qualification for the second time in a row... Nigeria is no longer a serious footballing nation.

I can't write Nigeria off against any team in Playoffs. We struggle against small teams but can do it against bigger ones

The problem is we don't currently have enough points to be in the 4 best runners up. The current 4 best 2nd place teams have between 12 and 15 points, we are on 7 points

There’s no way we can even be among the top 4 to qualify for playoff looking at that second place table.

No Worls Cup qualification back to back.

Shameful.

That was atrocious defending and a total lack of concentration by the Brazil back line. This has become embarrassing.

I am looking at the CONMEBOL standing and I see Chile are sitting 2nd to last and definitely not qualifying for the WC. It was only recently they dominated South American football with consecutive COPA America titles.

Brazil does not have the depth and quality of previous years.

If you ask me, I will suggest they go back to the basics. Successive coaches post Korea/ Japan have struggled to help Brazil create an identity with how they play.

Relying on foreign superstars hasn’t worked for them recently. I’d suggest they build their team and style around their best local players. The foreign superstars lack chemistry and cohesion when they get on the pitch.

CONMEBOL is different from European football and that is what they are missing. They are approaching games like they are playing European soccer while the likes of Argentina despite their superstars keep it CONMEBOL whenever they return home.

Yes, they have lacked cohesion and team identity but i think that has more to do with the coaching (or lack of it) than the players.
The players are not the supermen of yesteryears, so they need coaching to bail them out a bit. Something similar would happen to our boys if Deschamps is left with a mediocre squad.

Look at today's game for instance. With the players available, Nunes up top with Vinicius at LW, Raphinha RW, and Joelinton, Andre, and Gomes in midfield would have given them better balance. instead, the manager started all the quality senior forwards and asked them to find a way. Playing only Andre as a laborer in midfield away to an Argentine team full of laborers is a criminal offence.

The truth is we struggle against any team that play with desire, intensity, and strict dedication to a game plan. We are not ruthless cos when draped in SE colors, our players are mentally weak.

Joelinton did a pretty good job at stopping the opposition at Newcastle. He didn’t replicate that role and lighten Andre’s burden?
