EEGA:
The lecturer started this assault when he shoved the innocent girl.

He shouldn't have done that but an "excuse me" without physical contact would have sufficed in cases like that.

After shoving instead of him to leave or go his way, he had to return just because of an innocent statement "who do he think he is?"

He had to return and request for her phone.

This lecturer went too far.As if the choving wasn't enough, you wanted to obtain her phone by forceful means.

This man really looked for trouble.

The girl only wrong was the bite, which I believe she did inorder for her to be free from the lecturers grip.

In a honest, unbiased and transparent setting. The girl will be punished for the bite and the lecturer sanctioned by the school panel for his assault on a female student.

The lecturer tried treating the girl like a nobody but the girl perceived it as an affront on her dignity.

The both deserve to be punished but the partial lecturers might choose to protect their interest.

Even in football the centre referee issues a yellow card for a shove and a penalty to your opponent when it is in the box.
Spot on
Well done

Take a look at the picture where he was trying to tap the lady, and check the angle he was standing at. Which shows there is still ample space for him to pass by. A polite non-lordish person would have passed that space and [s]told the lady from the side or at the front to contain the space she's occupying for passage of others.[/s] ./edited/ A polite non-lordish person would have utilized the very large space behind the lady to pass by and not intentionally bump into her, her video, start demanding her video to be deleted, forcefully taking her phone, and also holding her hands extremely tightly and not letting go despite intervention from other students. What, wants to break the lady's wrist?/edited/

Summarily, the man had enough space to pass by, while still narrow. But no, he intentionally showed up in her video and then demanding the video to be deleted. And then forcefully trying to take her phone from her.

Personally, for me, you tap me from the back? You could be holding a knife. I most likely would have punched you in the face and then checked if you were not holding a knife. You tap from the front or you call out.
oga there are two ways that leads to two doors so we're the space u talking, stop defending rubbish,is school made for tiktok or learning

This is a news story, and the action words in any news stories are always written in present continuous tenses. You can't use past tense in the verb of an headline; if you do so, that means you are selling a stale news to your audience. Secondly, 'BIT' is not an adjective, it's a verb.
olodo, what is the past tense of am? scored 95 in waec,

I'm surprised some people find fault in the lecturer's action sha

But who knows how Nigerians are wired these days

A faculty building is not a ground for TikTok or any other nonsense video

It is an office building for serious academic business

End of story

I took my time to carefully scrutinize the video and because I recognize that I may be wrong with my earlier post. However, on close examination, I am doubling down on my stance for the following reasons::

Image highlight #1 - In the image below, the lecturer slightly shoved and objectively speaking, that is classified as assault under the Nigerian law

Section 252 of the Nigerian Criminal Code Act defines assault as striking, touching, or applying force to another person without their consent.

Reiterating my earlier point, if she was truly obstructing the way, the lecturer could have verbally asked her to make way or utilize the ample space behind her.

Image Highlight #2 - According to corroborative testimonies from the lecturer and the student, the lecturer returned after she verbally criticized his behavior. Basically, he returned to verify if she was a student and subsequently attempted to seize her phone.

My perspective
First, the lecturer's return to the site of incident was a clear escalation of a situation that would have diffused. Beyond that, he tried to perform the job of a security personnel by making inquiries of the student instead of deferring to trained security persons if he had doubt on the student's right to be within the school premises.

His subsequent attempt to seize the phone is completely illegal and also classified as robbery in the Nigerian constitution. Section 401–403 define and prescribe punishments for robbery.
Robbery is generally defined as stealing with the use of force or violence.

I can go further but based on my careful scrutinization of the video, the student is well within her right to defend herself and the lecturer must be re-trained to understand his job functions as well as compensate the student for the damaged phone.

If the school decides to punish the student, I will advise her to get a good attorney, make an official report against the lecturer to start a criminal case then file charges in a competent court of law. Based on what I see, I can almost guarantee an unbiased judge will quickly adjudicate in her favour!
How far now? She has been expelled. You can hire her good attorney.

You scored 95 in jamb and yet you couldn't understand such simple thing? You are not a mass communicator so you wouldn't know what I mean. Next time if you are clueless about something, you listen to those who do rather than attack them. Go to any news website apart from Nairaland if you still feel unsatisfied about my response.

Let your conscience judge you since you claim you have no clue about what I'm saying.

Someone will be on the go for breaking news, write on it, and some animalistic being somewhere will wait till the post has gathered traction and rewrite to suit his own gain.

What level of illegal behaviour is that?

Stop it.
