Bill To Establish Christian Court Passes Second Reading At Reps by zero8zero(op): 8:25pm On Mar 25, 2025
The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed for a second reading a bill aiming to amend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to establish Ecclesiastical Courts of Appeal.

The Bill for an Act to Alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2024 to Provide for the Establishment of the Ecclesiastical Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja and the Ecclesiastical Court of Appeal of the States; and for Related Matters was sponsored by Francis Waive, representing Ughelli Udu.

The bill seeks to create courts that would adjudicate matters pertaining to Christian personal law and ecclesiastical issues.

A similar bill was proposed in 2016 to complement the regular courts in adjudicating in matters relating to the tenets of the Christian faith, but was stuck in its second reading.

The bill, sought to amend Cap. C23 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, seeks to give the Ecclesiastical Court the compliment of the regular courts in adjudging in matters relating to the tenets of the Christian faith between individuals and groups that yield and submit to its jurisdiction.

This is what a Christian President and a Christian VP couldn't give you, but a Muslim/Muslim ticket is going to give you. And trust me, this bill has passed the second reading, for the first time in history and surely Tinubu will make sure it is passed and the constitution be reviewed to accommodate it. The overall goal of all these fantastic bills is a new constitutional review.
That's why Tinubu is not distracted by coalition of losers and the headless mob making noise on social media. Tinubu is laser focused on his mandate of renewed Hope, fairness to all religion and regions and his reelection is as strong as a horse's manhood.

Yes, two can play the game. Then there should also be Isese Courts for traditionalists. Fulanis can't subjugate us under Islam.

Rubbish. There's nothing like christian court. Where did they adopt that from among the Christian countries that brought Christianity to Nigeria. They just want to use Christian Court as a means to allow people be comfortable with Islamic Court or Sharia Court

Does US, UK have Christian Court?

That constitution is at this point become a completely useless document and would need to be thrown out in its entirety if sanity if ever to come back to this side of the world. angry

This bill is equally as important. There must be religious balance in the constitution.
Re: Bill To Establish Christian Court Passes Second Reading At Reps by ChirstFireAltar(m): 9:04pm On Mar 25, 2025
What's this?
The bill should be trashed.
There are customary court, magistrate courts state high court, and federal high court.
What do we need another court for as Christians?

Christians don't need this greek gift to hoodwink them to allow sharia courts in the South.

The economy, security and corruption should be the focus.

We also do not need a bicameral legislature, they have too much time for nonsense

You're inconsequential. Nobody ties your legs and forces you into a sharia court. When the Christian Court is established, go there and settle your matter and leave Muslims to their sharia court. Sharia court is already in the constitution, there's nothing you can do about it. You will cry & wail about something and when attention is given to it, you will still turn around to wail again. Behaving like a snake. Bitter people.

I have not seen any Christian demand for Christian court(what does this even mean?).

Nigeria has a judiciary thats highly corrupt. People are asking for judicial reforms, not Christian courts.

Unserious people!
