This demonstrates the mighty power of his love. It is a very pretty observation of old Isaac Ambrose that the gum which exudes from the tree without cutting is always the best.

This precious camphire-tree yielded most sweet spices when it was wounded under the knotty whips, and when it was pierced by the nails on the cross; but see, it gives forth its best spice when there is no whip, no nail, no wound.


This sets forth the voluntariness of Christ's sufferings, since without a lance the blood flowed freely. No need to put on the leech, or apply the knife; it flows spontaneously.

The agony of Christ, inasmuch as it pours him out upon the ground, pictures the fulness of the offering which he made for men. Do we not perceive how intense must have been the wrestling through which he passed, and will we not hear its voice to us? “Ye have not yet resisted on to blood, striving against sin” Behold the great Apostle and High Priest of our profession, and sweat even to blood rather than yield to the great tempter of your souls.

The statement clearly DOES NOT say that he sweated actual blood droplets from his pores but rather that his sweat was like drops of blood. Have you never encountered metaphors or figures of speech before?

Why not,if I get to live forever....
He only sacrificed his weekend. (That if he existed) .
You would do it.

But truth be told, nobody asked him to. He was arrested and tried and executed...that is not how to perform a sacrifice. It is slit in the throat, the blood allowed to flow and then burnt. Why did he not go and meet the priest to perform it properly. God never gave the Romans the power to carry out sacrifice on his behalf. The story has too many holes, like a Swiss cheese to be true.

i ask him to die for me. I will continue to thank God for giving me his son to die for me. That is the greatest thing ever done for mankind. You may not understand it but there are millions of people that has realized the importance of his death and they are grateful for him dying for our sins. I will forever be grateful. If I was there I would ask him to die for my sin.

1. The sacrifice of Christ is beyond death. The death of the Lord Jesus gives us the life to live beyond death.

1. First and foremost where did the idea of God sending anybody to come and die for the sins of anybody come from? It is pagan if you ask me. Human sacrifice belongs to the realm of Lucifer. It has got nothing to do with the creator of heaven and earth. Who forbids us in one of his commandments "Thou shall not kill" it does not make any sense? God already provided a solution to the problem of sin...see 2nd chronicles 7:14. It does not involve any human sacrifice. That is what a loving God will do, not ask for a human to be killed to please you.

2. Humans sin and humans are to ask God for forgiveness. That is what he asked. Not human death or sacrifice.

There is no human being that is ready to do what Jesus did not even you. You cannot take a slap for your neighbor not to talk of dying for him. If there is no human being that is ready to die for the sins of the world how would the sins of the world be paid.

2, human sin and ask God for forgiveness, if God forgive human and human sin again and again, how long will God continue to forgive human. Don't you know that God also run out of patience. That was why you see God keep destroying this world and repenting of it. God destroyed this world with water during the time of Noah. He also destroyed sodom and Gomorrah with fire, what do you think God would use to destroy this generation. God would have wipe us away from the face of the earth. This generation that is full of sin. By now I don't think there would be anyone in earth. God is a merciful God but he also grow out of patience and get angry. If not for the death and resurrection of Jesus, there won't be any Earth by now. That life that you so like would be blown away by God.
So this world needed Jesus

this is not kill. No body is killing any body for God. This is human sacrifice of the sins of the world. This is the price to pay for the sins of the world. And there is no other way. Only that a human being would die and pay the price of the sins of the world with his body. And Jesus has done it once and for all. Now we are save
