The 1980 African Cup of Nations was the 12th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the football championship of Africa (CAF). It was hosted by Nigeria.

It was a football match that took place on 22 March 1980, at the National Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria, to determine the winner of the 1980 African Cup of Nations. Nigeria defeated Algeria 3–0 with two goals from Segun Odegbami and a goal from Muda Lawal, to win their first African Cup.

Nostalgic times when the zeal to pursue national pride and honours was in the blood. The 1994 Eagles that won the championship in Tunisia and eventually formed the nucleus of the 1996 Olympic Football Gold Winning team in Atlanta Georgia USA will forever by my most cherished national team.

Rip Stephen keshi the best indigenous coach Nigeria has ever had. Man won an Afcon with mostly home based players and we can’t even win today with foreign born players on home soil .Nigeria has declined in African soccer real bad

The team should just focus on AFCON so that the world will miss them during the Mundia. This will go a long way to cover us up

Bro, I stopped doing this over 12 years ago. Nigeria players are no longer serious, Nigeria has affected them, no more passion. Stop wasting your fuel. You scored 1 goal and you start walking with the ball...old tired legs on national duty. Shioooor

Super Eagles don't play with passion, no hunger or desire to achieve something great with the national colors.

When they play, they play with the mentality of doing Nigerians a favor and at the end of the day pocket dollars they don't deserve.

If Super eagles fail to qualify for the world cup from the group stage, it will definitely be almost impossible to go to the world cup. They players aren't just ready to play for Nigeria.

When I saw that bet8ja advert yesterday about this match my mind was already telling me super eagles might not win the match......

The draw today due to the unseriousness of the players makes me think the match might was fixed cos how on earth will you draw that kind of match at the very last minutes
