I think those of us who are 25 to 30 years of age our parents really enjoyed this life, I mean they really enjoyed the transition from analog to digital... They also got to enjoy real relationship and love, not the kind of social media love we have now....imagine experiencing listening to a town crier and than later on newspaper and after sometime a smart phone which you can get your daily news... I mean they are just lucky to get to experience the last version of easy life for mankind |

ucheagu:. These are nothing but lies, the kind of brainfarts that only emanate from the minds of those who have had their minds brainfucked for extended periods at that. ![]() |

Kobojunkie:Pls do explain how? |
| Re: Our Parents Really Enjoyed This Life by Kobojunkie: 11:01pm On Mar 27, 2025 |
ucheagu:Your statements are all obvious generationalizations based on ideas without substance; they hold no water when put up against the reality of life for most Nigerians in marriage before social media and after. ![]() |
| Re: Our Parents Really Enjoyed This Life by ucheagu(op): 11:18pm On Mar 27, 2025 |
Kobojunkie:Am sorry for misleading you...am not talking about marriage but about the experience of the older generation those who are 50 to 60 years of age the transition they had and the kind of relationship the had back then not being influenced by social media |
| Re: Our Parents Really Enjoyed This Life by Kobojunkie: 11:28pm On Mar 27, 2025 |
ucheagu:1. How did you come to this conclusion of yours that persons in their 50s/60s enjoyed a better kind of relationship back in the days? ![]() 2. Where does this other conclusion that social media has had a bad influence on relationships equally come from? Let's start from there at least. ![]() |

Kobojunkie:Base on my own analysis relationships back in the days was between two partner no social media telling you how you need to be love, the kind of relationship you need to be in which made relationship last longer because you can only want what you see ... |

ucheagu:See why I immediately said these statements of yours were unfounded opinions(lies)? ![]() 2. Relationships were much better when people were less enlightened. This is what you are attempting to convince us all of here, abi? ![]() |

Kobojunkie:See never be in a rush to miss use the word "enlightened" because all of this might be a forced narrative on us to make us less human and more of a robot.. But all am saying here is that I would really like to have experience what they had.. Back then you get to hear the news one week after the event but now you get to hear the news of the whole world in a day with your phone... And am not complaining.. I know thing have change but we are on a fast lane PS am not going to reply you again have a good life |

ucheagu:1a. WOW... knowledge intended to help one make better decisions— ignorance the alternative — is not to be considered a sort of enlightenment? ![]() 1b. WOW.... make you less human? The narratives provided by other human sources may be geared towards making you less human. Isn't this here an attempt by your person to assert that you must have been more human than those other human sources, to begin with? ![]() 2. You can experience it if you want to. There are still millions of people whose lives are not colored by the fast-moving world around them. There are 10s of millions of Nigerians who have not even seen the news in Nigeria or experienced electricity in over a month. So, I guess the question here is what has been stopping you from pursuing the off-the-grid life? ![]() 3. Life on the fast lane remains a choice even to this day. Again, in many parts of Nigeria, many people don't live life on the fast lane. So, again, the question is why have you chosen to pretend it a better life while not pursuing it with all fervor? ![]() |

ucheagu:Those parents you claim enjoyed life highly envy your generation. Kobo is correct despite how annoying he is. They experienced real life because they had no alternative. If social media, the internet and other modern comforts existed then, they would hop on those without a care and forego all the things you’re praising now. Their news was gotten three to four days after events, not a week. I’ve mentioned it before. One Nairaland boy lied by countering that he watched events happen live during his time. |

ucheagu:It seems you are new on nairaland. That fellow kobojunkie lives for arguments. She can argue the same issue with you for one full week. Unless you are less busy and have nothing doing you can continue engaging her 😂 |

ucheagu:if your parents were given a choice to go back to that life they would say no. Stop glamorizing rubbish. How many people can heae what a town crier is saying self. The so called relationship you say they enjoyed - imagine dating someone and you went to school or work somewhere else you had to rely on letters that usually got missing in transit. My day once travelled to go meet my mum in school back then, got there and learnt she had gone home for the burial of her uncle. Which kind life be that There was nothing like real love then too. The men based in Lagos got all the fine chicks in the village. No different from what we have today where yahoo and rich men get the prime babes. |
