Why do we limit our understanding of good governance to roads, buildings and other physical infrastructure to the neglect of employment in the civil service to make common amenities, utilities and services available for everyone?

How many teachers and other workers have been employed by Soludo since Anambra people allowed him to be the governor? How many were employed by Obiano, Obi, Ngige and Mbadinujuhuh
The reason for the creation of the civil service is to provide services to the people and NOT to offer employment. This is a very very important fact that many Nigerians need to understand. The civil Service is the engine of the state. This is the body that transforms governments policies into actions and services. It begins and ends there. Anyone who is advocating for the utilisation of the services as a means to provide jobs, is indirectly trying to kill the country. Why? When you over-staff the civil service with both wanted and unwanted hands, you create a huge financial burden for the country. You increase the running costs, thereby ballooning the recurrent expenditures. If this happens, the state is in trouble, as the meager resources available for capital projects continues to get leaner and leaner deu to the astronomical wage bill. So it is insane to have a generation of Nigerians grow up thinking that the only way they can make it in life is to study hard enough just to be qualified to be employed in the countrys civil service! People like you need to wake up. Go and create your own enterprises and jobs. The civil Service should be Small and concise.

If the civil service is over-staffed why do our cities and towns have less water supply than they had in 1999?

The lack of state-owned pipe-borne water in the homes of Lagos residents has continued to be a source of concern, a non-profit group, Corporate Accountability and Public Advocacy Africa (CAPPA) has said.

At a press event to mark this year’s World Water Day, the group said its monitoring team’s visit to state-owned waterworks showed that most of them are not operational.

The group said the waterworks it visited include the ones at Maryland, Mushin, Ikorodu, Obalende, Agbowa, Onikan, Ikoyi, and Amuwo Odofin.

Only the one in Ikoyi is producing water, according to CAPPA.

Why do we have more private schools than public schools since 1999, with the private schools barely supervised?

Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner
September 4, 2022

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

How can you send probes to other planets if you are not giving every single child free education in schools with adequate professional teachers?

This airport should have been named after Chukwu Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu...

Then Anambra state university named after Chinua Achebe... Chinua Achebe belongs to the Academia while Ojukwu is a statesman...most airports are named after statesmen, ex presidents and freedom fighters

Imagine entering this beautiful airport and being greeted by a giant statue of Ojukwu in his military uniform... A true Hero of Ndi Igbo.
Exactly my point many years ago when this was done.

Prof. Chinua Achebe being an academic, deserves to have the University named after him, while the airport can go to Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu.

Providing services to the people as a volunteer group

We have over 200m citizens, the civil service should just be 2000 Abi

Police, teachers, environmental workers, health workers etc should be left for private people Abi

Don't come at me with that your incoherent balderdash. You are talking to a trained public administrator. I NEVER said that the civil service should be understaffed. I said that the culture of flooding officialdom with thugs and political hanger on just to create "jobs for the boys", overburdens the civil service and adds to the hefty recurrent expenditures of the government every year. This is a fact you can never contest and no, I did not listen to any "analysts", I stated the obvious. No nation on earth grew from a "third world" situation to a "first world" standard by spending over 80% of her earnings on salaries for some inefficient buffoons in the civil service.. If you know of any, mention them..

Do you know how much of Nigerias budget goes into recurrent expenditures? That is before the removal off subsidies and increases in tariffs. Do you know how many agencies of government exist for no reason other than to create jobs for the boys as we speak? There is the EFCC, there is the ICPC, there is the criminal investigation department of the police! Is that not an unnecessary duplication of jobs? You have agencies of government in this country where there are more messengers and drivers than the real workers, and you are there talking of the necessity of employing more?

You lot are lucky I am not anywhere near power. If I am in charge in this country, 2/3 of all these redundant agencies will go and half of the civil servants that are not needed by the system, will be fired! Go and use your head and your certificate to create jobs and stop nibbling on the resources that should be used to build up the nations infastructures..

Yeah.., something like that... Some people took offence to what i said earlier..
Our people will always get upset when you point out the obvious. I was speaking from experience. Airport roads in Asia are wider, well marked, well decorated, lots of lightening, neat and all that.

These "black roads" we build in Nigeria are irritating. So old school . Roads elsewhere are made to look "whiter" so they can reflect the heat. So why are roads in the tropics that are much hotter allowed to be very dark, when that will make the roads retain the heat from the sun,and by so doing heat up everywhere?

Yoruba man, it comes as no surprise that you want Ikemba executed! It's not today your ilk started despising Ndigbo! Your hate is ingrained and dates to as far back as the 60s! I make bold to say that just two or three Yoruba were directly or indirectly responsible for the state murder of millions of Igbo/Biafrans! Not even the Fulani have murdered the number of Igbo your ilk have murdered. You sit there and yap glibly about executing Ojukwu for 'treason' in a perverse, corrupt, dysfunctional and captured state such as Nigeria is, yet it's lost on you that your own leader, Awo, was actually convicted by your own Nigerian state for treason!
Ojukwu deserves to be still given a posthumous sentence cool
and his bitch wife bianca no where to be found near any of Nigerias administrations cool
Re: New Look Of Chinua Achebe International Airport Road Anambra: Pictures by IGBOPROMISE1: 11:10am On Mar 28, 2025
Nnamdipapa:
"At what point did i argue 'it was ok for Ojukwu to start a war'? At what point did i even say 'Ojukwu started the war'? My position is that the war was brought to Ndigbo/Biafra not the other way round, and that when one is pushed to the wall and sees the state is either unwilling or incapable of protecting him and his family, he has no option but to fight back! This was the position Ndigbo/Biafra found themselves in during the events that led up to the uncivil war!"

You are way over your head if you think you are talking to a DUNCE.

A deliberate act of declaring secession was the official declaration of war. Ojukwu declared a secession, Ojukwu officially started the war based on his EMOTIONS!

It does not matter what happened that led to the war as there were alternatives avenues that would have been explored before declaring a secession. By declaring a secession, Ojukwu declared a war with Nigeria. If you don't know this simple fact, then I am better off discussing with a goat.

If I have to fight for the survival of my people, I will not do so to the detriment of my people and most importantly, I will not start a war, have people die and, run away. Over a million people died in Igbo land for chrissake and we were set back by more 50 years. MNK has started the drums of war again from the confort
I don't think i'm talking to a DUNCE, dude i KNOW i'm talking to a dunce!

You keep banging on about the effect while ignoring the causative factors leading up to it! You keep banging on about the responses of Ojukwu to the pogrom of easterners in the north, the reluctance and/or inability of the gowon junta to put a stop to it, and the refusal of said junta to keep to their word after signing the Aburi accord in Ghana! You overlook all these causative factors and deceitfully and wickedly try to pin the blame on Ojukwu for having the balls at such a young age to confront the injustice and evil visited on his people! Like i said, you argue like a average Igbo/Ojukwu hating Yoruba or Fulani man, and i can't say it comes as a surprise!

Now in 2025 and sitting in the relative comfort and safety of your house, you have the benefit of hindsight to wax lyrical about 'alternatives' Ojukwu caould have chosen! Dude, what do you call him getting assurances from the Gowon junta which led to him assuring easterners they were safe in the north and that the federal military gov't would stop the killings...what do you call the meeting in Aburi that lead to the peace accord? The way you tell it, one would think that on the first day the pogrom of easterners in the north began, that Ojukwu ran to the radio station to declare secession!

It's recorded for all interested to research and find out what led to Ojukwu declaring secession, but the way 'nnamdipapa' tells it, Ojukwu declared secession because he was 'emotional' and hence HE was the one responsible for starting the war! Just listen to yourself and see how daft your argument comes across.

Dude, if today tens of thousands of Igbo are again slaughtered in the north and the useless Tinubu gov't either cannot or refuses to put an end to it with the the murders carrying on for weeks on end, what do you think will happen? In fact, let's say the tables are turned and its the Yoruba at the receiving end of it, tell me what you think their response would be?

You earlier made a claim that Mazi Kanu and/or IPOB brought insecurity and bloodshed to the south-east. I asked you to state instances or provide links to reports that show any insecurity or bloodshed in the south-east caused by the aformentioned BEFORE the despot Buharis' ill adviced python dance was set up in the region! Surely this should be easy for you do, so in your response provide instances for us to be educated! smiley

Buhari having a clone as a stand-in is not beyond the realms of possibility. If you like i can provide links showing when world leaders were suspected to have clones or lookalikes stand in for them. I suspect that something may have happened at the period Buhari was really sick and was away from office for a protracted period of time and there was talk of Osibanjo having to be sworn in as president. It's possible a clone was provided for a short period of time to overcome that hurdle, after which Buhari got better. Like i said, it's not beyond the realms of possibility.
