You are certainly confused. I get address before na hin I dey ask again?
yes I’m so confused cos you shouldn’t be asking this question when holding a smartphone in 2025, just a single google search would reveal that address to you.

Greetings everyone,

I've quietly followed these threads and thank the knowledgeable contributors for their valuable insights.

I am researching on behalf of my dad, who plans to switch to solar power for his home. He recently received a vague quote that is missing several key details.

I have encountered reputable brands such as Growatt, SRNE, and Victron and would like to choose a quality brand that will stand the test of time for this project.

I am also open to connecting with someone trustworthy and genuinely interested in managing and executing this installation.

Kindly post your contribution here. I have attached the quote for everyone's review.

The location is Epe, Lagos.

Here is a list of appliances that need to be powered:
1. Fridge and freezer (1 unit)
2. Freezers (3 units)
3. Borehole pump (1)
4. Room fans (4)
5. Parlor fans (2)
6. Dining room fan (1)
7. Children's parlor fan (1)
8. Televisions (2)
9. Washing machine (1)
10. Water heater (1)
11. Game console (1)
12. Numerous light bulbs 💡

Additionally, we plan to purchase four solar light poles for the front and back of the house.

Thank you for your assistance!
You're here already so settle for an installer from here if possible. Most of the guys outside are just interested in selling what they have not what's best for you or your setup. Already evident in the choice of battery quoted which is a recipe for premium tears - total disaster as others have rightly noted.

Your intended choice of inverter brand is good. Go for Jinko solar panels if available, otherwise try Canadian or Longi. Even CWorth panels are really good. Always make sure they're original. Around 10-15 units of 600W or greater should do (even less depending on LITHIUM battery size).

Your loads suggest a 5 or 6kw inverter. 6kw is more apt. Again the brands you mentioned are all good. Growatt (I recommend), SRNE, Victron (if you're a tech enthusiast and don't mind sploshing money), you can't go wrong with any.

If you or your dad intend to run some or most of these loads at night, then a 10kwh or 15kwh LITHIUM battery is par the course. Enjoy!

FEGEITOK:
Based on my calculations 5,430 watts running for 9 hours means 48.87kWh.

What is the appropriate solar panel and battery sizing for the above?

is 15kW of solar panels and 20kw of battery good enough?
Does the 9 hours include night time?

Yes it's sufficient. Can't say much about battery sizing without info on night runtime.

No, it does not include night time.

Also, in some ways there is over-estimation.

The printer does not run 24/7.

The computers can also go into standby mode when not in use.

The display units may go into standby mode, but I calculated for the worst case scenario.

If it were to be a 24/7 operation, I am sure that battery would be insufficient, but for day time loads of 8 hours + 1 hour overtime just in case, I felt it is adequate.

Your views are welcome all the same

Sako you need to make the correct PIN outs and its RS485.
Native network cable does not work, even their follow come cable no work, unless you customize one.

Sako has a special communication cable that comes with it.

The problem is with the 8 dip switch

Speaking of customisation, how do I customise one

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by jonescosmos(m):
You will need both the user manual of the Inverter and the battery, find a page where the RJ45 Pinout is described (for CAN and RS485) respectively, the crimp a network cable following the instructions of the pinouts, then use the cable to link the battery to the inverter, locate the DIP Switch description in the Battery user manual, set the switch accordingly and configure your inverter battery type setting accordingly.

You should be fine.

This is the reason you need to buy proprietary products, there's a standardized pinout for such products and all you need to do will be to configure protocols and IDs and you should establish a communication.

There is no standardized pinout for mass produced IOs (input & Output) interfaces. And as such only the producers of the products are the only ones to provide the cables for you or tell you which pin does what.
