Orb: On the Movements of the Earth ....... 10/10


One of the best shows I've seen this year!!! 100% recommend if you're into thought-provoking shows.

It's basically a show about the pursuit of knowledge and truth even with fierce adversity.

The story takes place in the 15th century Poland whereby several characters pursued the truth of the universe even if it was contrary to the church's beliefs.

The church and Bishop then took their own misinterpretations of some verses of the Scriptures to state that the Earth does not move, but instead it is the sun and other bodies that move around the Earth. Any other belief was tagged as blasphemy and severely punished by hanging and burning by Inquisitors working for the church.

The series portrays the unending curiosity of humanity in their quest for the truth...and the sacrifices they make in this quest...many of whom will never be remembered in history but nevertheless contributed in the discovery of the truth of the world.

The last 2 episodes and ending were confusing at first but after some thought I believe I understand the message there.

*Major spoilers ahead: don't read until you watch the ending:

The character resembling the first protagonist at the end is a different character entirely who was made to represent how the not only the church's orthodoxy can lead to extremism, but also the pursuit of knowledge can be a dangerous conviction that can lead to extremism. It's basically balancing the equation.

Also, over the course of the story, many characters were executed by the church due to their pursuit for the truth of the universe and their exploration in Heliocentrism which was against the church's orthodoxy. Their pursuit was labelled blasphemy and they were killed and their corpses burnt.

At a point it felt like everything our protagonists did for 23 episodes were all in vain...

But a single letter written about 40 years ago which contained a recommended title for a book that was never published because the characters died trying to publish it was enough to plant a seed of doubt in Geocentrism in someone who had the desire for knowledge.

That someone inspired a student who decades later became the founder of the Heliocentric model that placed the sun at the center of the universe.

What an ending!!!

Also I realized that the constant changes in the opening visuals in the show represented how every protagonist was seemingly erased from history despite their conviction and their contribution to the pursuit of the truth...
They were erased from history and replaced by others...but everything they did was not in vain

The world building in wheel of time is insane. No series of this era can match it in terms of world building.

3 episodes in and it's been total chaos from the start. Top tier action, comedy and great writing.
Episode one and two looked the strongest with Ridley Scott and Jonathan Van Tulleken (SHOGUN) directing respectively.

Apple TV+ be cooking this season.

Checked and it was almost like the season 3 didn't exist until I saw the episodes on IMDB.

For whatever reason the episodes have been produced but release delayed on AppleTV. So it's almost non-existent on the internet...

All I managed to find were a few episodes via some links on Reddit.

° Brodaman, It is the normal story we all know they just added some flesh and made up add-ons to it. I'm watching for the romance that is to come. It tells you, more about how things happened not the fictional it is all God but we know it is God, but how did you do it. Always said david is skillful and strong, he no easy to kill lion and bear fa.

How hard is it to kill this ray? Man walks freely on street that both law enforcement and bikers can't unalive. Two foolish thieves. I'm thinking son is also one cuz how do you let the fool in again. Make dem sell believable story, make dem no waste precious episode to buy time. Data don cost
