Not necessarily . As it stands she will win the case anywhere unless INEC refused to proceed with the recall process

INEC have played into her hands. And foolishly i dare to add.

The criminals doing a hatchet job will never want to supply her with all documents including the signatures and names of those who want her recalled.

The reason is that they know that her husband has deep enough pockets to hire a forensic handwriting expert from abroad. They knowbit would be discovered that the 250,000 laughable signatures they're parading were actually signed by not more than 20 people sitting in a room.

Blazetrailer:
Did you read INEC's press conference on the recall? INEC admitted that the petitioners all had 1 address which is enough to throw it out but INEC foolishly accepted it as a valid petition anyway. The law is that you would have to verify that all the signatories to the petition live in that senatorial zone. How would that be done when there is only one address(that of the lead petitioner)?

Why do you think INEC is reluctant to forward the complete petition to her? They have goofed.

Even if it goes on, she will win in court. That is why her lawyers are confident to write INEC to proceed with the next step of the process which INEC is footraggong on after messing up
Sorry sir, inec was asking of the address of the representatives not all the 250k petitioners. Inec said only their leader had an address which isn't clear while others did not input an address. This is not enough to throw away the petition sir. It needed a correction.

Inec is to fix a date to go to her district and verify the signature not the addresses or where there are. Inec is not bound or compelled to give her a copy of the petition, it is not a court case. She can only go to court after the recall process and the court will rule in 2027 when she's gone

By the provision of law, every signature on that list must have a name, address and phone number and these details must tally with the details on the voter register for the constituency concerned. They know some of you are starkly ignorant and that's why they proceed with impunity.

Only about 20 people sat to sign those 250,000 signatures, that's why they had no time to copy the addresses and phone numbers. Again, if they put phone numbers, the fraud will quickly cast.

Senator Natasha, Husband Threaten Court Action Against Deputy Chief Whip Nwaebonyi Over Defamatory Remarks

News

Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, is facing potential legal action over alleged defamatory remarks made against Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The legal representatives of both individuals have issued a formal demand for a public apology, failing which a lawsuit will be instituted against him.

In a letter dated March 27, 2025, with reference WIC/W/AB/W3/25, the solicitors representing Chief Uduaghan, a respected businessman and high chief in Warri Kingdom, and Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, accused Nwaebonyi of making damaging statements during a television interview.

The remarks were aired on News Central TV and its affiliate platforms, including DSTV, GOTV, Startimes, and AVO.

During the interview, Nwaebonyi allegedly made derogatory remarks suggesting that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has a pattern of making false accusations of sexual harassment and implied that her marriage to Chief Uduaghan was based on coercion rather than mutual affection.

The statements, which quickly spread across social media, have been described as a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of both individuals.

The legal letter outlines the serious implications of the senator’s remarks, stating that they falsely portray Chief Uduaghan as a victim of blackmail and Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan as someone of questionable moral character.

According to the solicitors, these statements have caused significant reputational damage, leading to distrust and embarrassment among their political, social, and business associates.

The demand notice calls for a written public apology from Senator Nwaebonyi within 14 days, to be aired on News Central TV and widely disseminated across social media platforms.

Failure to comply, the letter warns, will result in legal proceedings against the senator to seek redress.

SaharaReporters had reported that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan on Wednesday submitted an affidavit to the Senate Ethics Committee as supporting evidence in her petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

She had accused Akpabio of sexual harassment, abuse of office, and obstruction of legislative duties.

In the affidavit, the suspended senator quoted Akpabio to have said, "Natasha, I am the Chief Presiding Officer of the Senate and you can enjoy a whole lot from me if you take care of me and make me happy."

Akpoti-Uduaghan lamented that her petition was initially rejected by the Senate, prompting her constituent, Mr. Suberu Azamare Yakubu, to present it on her behalf.

The affidavit, obtained by SaharaReporters, details an alleged incident that occurred on December 8, 2023, during a visit to Akpabio’s country home in Akwa Ibom State.

However, speaking in an interview with News Central on Wednesday, Nwaebonyi had dismissed Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims of sexual harassment, saying that “it is high time we come hard on her”.

He had referenced an accusation she made against former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

He argued that Omokri was not even in Nigeria at the time, implying that the allegations were baseless.

Nwaebonyi stated that his criticism was not solely about defending the Senate President but also about safeguarding "future victims" of such alleged conduct. He went on to question how many husbands Akpoti-Uduaghan has had, seemingly using her marital history to shame her.

Lol.... you dont know what you are writing

Tthe law states that

1. " upon receipt of the petition, INEC shall notify the nstional assembly memberbwithin 24 hours of the receipt of the petition for recall formally with the details of the members who have signed the petition( details include the names, ward, adress, voting centres, etc)

INEC notified her via a latter but failed to include the necessary details. Abi how do you tell me my people want to recall me and I cant verify that they are truly my people......that is why her lawyers are boldly 2 steps ahead by asking for that publicly and formally. They knew INEC had goofed on its own laws

2. The Commison shall within 90 days begin the pricess by verfying the names, addresses, wards, polling units and the signature of all the petitioners.

It is obvious 1 is being dragged back because 2 can not be achieved with what was submitted, all those details in 2 should have been contained in the petition to start with and all those were not there as at the time of submission. The proper thing for INEC to have done was to have rejected the petition for not meeting the requirements but because they are partisan they fell into a stupid trap

Based on this, this current process of recalling her will fail woefully when it gets to court unless they start another one

They can blow money to start another one but this current one...is a waste already

She is well advised

Maybe another one will be succesful but this one has failed already. They played into her hands by accepting that petition, they should have rejected it.

Natasha versus Akpabio

Natasha versus Neda Imasuen (submitted a petition to get him disbarred)

Natasha versus Senate (saying they operate like a cult)

Natasha versus Yahaya Bello (during elections)

Natasha versus Nigerian officials (when she went to United Nations without clearance to talk about her suspension; she didn't care if those officials got into trouble).

Natasha versus Karimi (Karimi said she insulted his mother)

Natasha versus INEC.

Natasha, are you the only one in Nigeria? You have been going around saying you were suspended because you are a woman and they want to silence you. Arthur Nzeribe, Ali Ndume, Abdul Ningi, Ovie Omo-Agege, and some others were suspended. They either went to court or fought without controversy.

It is clear that Natasha is a fighter. Unfortunately, no sensible general takes on too many fights at once. It is clear that she doesn't want to be defeated. It is clear that she is not fighting intelligently.

Assuming she returns to the senate, how will she face her colleagues? Who'd want to do business with her now that she has demonstrated she is an unrelenting trouble maker?

I think she should resign from the Senate as she has not demonstrated tye maturity to be there. If she is genuine, why didnt she report the sexual innuendos earlier? Why now when she broke the rules? Akpabio should resign as well. Both of them cannot be making laws for the rest of us.

A suitable career path for Natasha would be an activist, fighting by making noise without taking practical action to fix things.
While it is true that other political figures have faced suspensions, each case has its unique circumstances. Comparing them without context oversimplifies the issue. Her situation involves specific concerns about procedural fairness and gender bias, which warrant independent consideration.

Being a "fighter" does not equate to recklessness. Natasha Akpoti's actions are guided by principle and a commitment to justice—not an unwillingness to concede. True leadership involves challenging injustices when necessary, not avoiding confrontation at all costs.

Every battle she undertake is deliberate, backed by legal and moral reasoning. If others perceive this as taking on "too many fights," I see it as refusing to remain silent where accountability is needed.
