Infact someone told me he was reading for GMAT, because he felt most of the questions will be GMAT, I had to tell him no that the questions are not GMAT, rather the questions are strictly based on field operations, infact an applicant said the calculator displayed on his screen when he was doing the operator skill test was totally useless.

Yes it was postponed indefinitely, yes applicants can still check their email for confirmation, well anyway it's an advantage for applicants yet to take their skills test as it will allow for ample time for preparations. Background checks is typically done after the interview stage. Not always easy to track background checks because it is done in confidentiality.
