So you people believed that thing.

Nigeria needs to do more to be richer.

Manufactured goods and services
You don't say

I thought removal of subsidy will make Nigeria richer and create more jobs according to you

There is no transparency in this oil business, honestly, NNPC seems to be hiding a lot of secrets.

I don't know why we cant buy fuel at #400/ liter after more than a year subsidy was removed. Import is there personal profit.

It had shown clearly they don't want our refinery to work.
It costs over 700 naira to produce a liter of fuel

And you want to buy it at 400 naira?

Okay. After don't complain when the refineries start breaking down.

You guys, haven't you heard about why it is important to make a profit?

CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA

Press Release

THE USE OF FOREIGN CURRENCY AS A MEDIUM OF EXCHANGE

The attention of the Bank has been drawn to the increasing use of foreign currencies in the domestic economy as a medium of payment for goods and vices by individuals and corporates.

It has also been observed that some institutions price their goods and services in foreign currencies and demand payments in foreign currencies rather than the domestic currency (the Naira),which is the legal tender in Nigeria. For the avoidance of doubt, the attention of the general public is hereby drawn to the provisions of the CBN Act of 2007, which states interalia that notes issued by the Bank shall be legal tender in Nigeria…for the payment of any amount”. Furthermore, the Act stipulates that any person(s) who contravenes this provision is guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a prescribed fine or six months imprisonment.

This prohibition, however, is without prejudice to foreigners, visitors and tourists who are encouraged to continue to use their cards for payments or exchange their foreign currency for local currency at any of the authorized dealers’ outpost. The general public is hereby advised to report any contravention of this Act to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Central Bank of Nigeria
(CBN) for appropriate action.

Where is the port Harcourt refinery and other refineries they claimed is working at 100% capacity?
We keep hearing dangote refinery everyday,
Some thing is wrong with this country and we need to stand up and ask questions

..it's the high exchange rate of 1, 560 naira to a dollar that is causing the high costs of fuel..if the exchange rate is from 600 naira to a dollar the price of fuel will be cheap..it will at least 200 naira to a litre.
So Tinubu should try and appreciate and strengthen the naira against the dollars inorder for the price of fuel to be cheap
Re: MRS, Others Raise Petrol Prices To N930 In Lagos, N960 In North by phemmie06(m):

The only people that will not suffer this price shift are the Tinubu supporters.
As Tinubu supporters I buy fuel with shikini money just 56 naira per liter and I even collect change.

The Truth must be told.

You are deceived and still being deceived that the benefit will reflect in the future, the future that is slaughtered on a daily basis with bad policies influenced with selfish interests.
Is there reduction in the government appointees and elected officers salary, do they feel the heat?

Keep deceiving yourself

.abi.. even Yaya bello also used dollars to.pay schools fees for his children schooling in Abuja Nigeria....all this depreciates the naira against the dollars and makes price of goods and services to be high and brings inflation

The more you grow in this world the more you realise it's a game of interest. What's is right depends on were your standing. Only few can advocate for right and wrong sincerely. To think Jonathan regime lifted subsidy and fuel went up by small margin was sufficient enough ground for protest.

Having a strong currency does not mean things would be cheaper. I mean, when naira was 140 to the dollar people still complained of how expensive things were.

Anyways, if we want a strong currency we have to be an exporter of manufactured goods and services..and it means we start by removing subsides on power so that the power sector can grow, and we also encourage vocational education and technical education.

But most of us want a fair sharing system.

Using our forex reserves to keep up the naira is a sure way of killing our economy long term. Especially debt wise.

Most agbado and obidients don't want to hear this

And anyway

Yeah the man is incompetent, but when subsides are pushing debt servicing to eat over 90% of revenue by August 2022, even if our president was of a IQ of 21 , he too would have removed subsidy.

Tinubu is a bad president, but removing fuel subsides was not one of his bad decisions.

He is also.a hypocrite. In 2012 he should have kept quiet
Alwys trying to sound intelligent but nothing dey......now answer my questions

Wat were the previous leaders using to sustain the economy then when they were paying subsidies......u will say borrowing.........ok pls note ..... tunubu is still borrowing even though he no longer pays subsidies

When subsidies was being paid by past leaders the economic conditions of the country and populace were ok but now with the removal of such financial burdens as presumed by u,the country economy is going camatos

Tunubu himself was against subsidy payment today the hypocrite is talking tough......

Nigeria recorded sectoral growth when subsidies was being paid

Today where are the sectoral growth......
