Clobisman:So Nigerians eat and go naked? Kenyans have a better standard of living and they opt for used clothes? Review your comment and humbly ask us to tell you what caused the drop for Nigeria. In fact it's positive. |

AdolfHitlerxXx:How you take get your facts say Muslims no dey spend money? During Ramadan, sales of food items including beer parlour activities dropped Some food vendors even decided not to cook at all meaning it's Muslims that are patronising those people. I am not a Muslims but I don't like seeing people make assertions they can't substantiate. |

arewafederation:Nay......imports are expensive which is positive for the local industries. Local tailors and textile makers are making more money. This is positive for government policies. Don't bring hatred. This is economics. |

That is the ONLY WAY to Industrialisation - ALL OVER THE WORLD 🌎. COTTON INDUSTRY - WILL EMPLOY NOTHING LESS THAN 15 -MILLIONS NIGERIANS,IF GOVT SHOULD TAP INTO IT! KISS😘 THE TRUTH! |

helinues:that is not the point. The summary is that every business is going down in Nigeria. Before dangote and NNPC refineries started working, amount of fuel import dropped because many people dumped their vehicles due to high price of fuel, number of used car imports dropped due poor sales. Many companies declared loss in trades, some closed down etc. Kenya overtook Nigeria simply because Nigerians no see money buy anymore |
| Re: Kenya Overtakes Nigeria As Africa’s Largest Importer Of Second-hand Clothes by BreconHills(m): 7:29am On Apr 01, 2025 |
helinues:But it is significant. If Kenya with a smaller population than Nigeria imports more second hand clothing than Nigeria, it means multi dimensional poverty is much greater than in Nigeria. If you adjust importation of used clothing against population - many countries have a greater degree of poverty than Nigeria. Simply looking at GDP per head is not the only or the most accurate definition of multidimensional poverty. This is not bad news for Nigeria. We are not in a race to the bottom. |
