same observation here. North Central positions are always given to people of Yoruba extraction mostly in Kwara and to some extent Yorubas in Kogi. Last week it's Dr Abubakar appointed as Health Insurance Chairman from Kwara and now Ojuari NNPCL CEO from same Kwara. What about people from Niger, Nassarawa, Plateau and Benue states?

The new chairman of NNPC is from Borno state in north east and the ceo is from Kwara state in north central. All zones have a representative on the board. What the fvck are you guys crying about?

I agree. Kyari should have been shown exit ages ago. Anyways, I hope these new folks turn around the fortunes of NNPC, have a good working relationship with local refineries and enhance steady delivery of the product at reduced price. Also, projects still lagging in delays like pipelines, refineries, etc are swiftly completed. Concession or sell the refineries. If NNPC has just 1 quality refinery that works perfectly and profitable, it’s better than 3 mediocre and costly nightmares that are just draining money. If there are no buyers, just sell the damn thing as scrap metal.

Their CVS damn intimidating, especially the new Group CEO/ MD of NNPCL. I have a thought that it's going to be well henceforth with Nigeria Economy. It's very difficult to put together the trouble and mismanagement under Buhari/Kyari tenure and even while he was retained till this morning. Kyari and his gang of thieves really messed up NNPCL and the flow of petroleum product within and outside the country. These people corruptly enriched themselves and their political godfathers. Just wait, relax and allow dirty news of their high-handedness to start filtering in.....

I also suspect that Dangote Naira for Crude issue was dramatically messed up by Kyari......

PS: Austin Avuru, Babs Omotowa, Bello Rabiu sit or sat on the board of Seplat. The new MD is from Renaissance Energy. Henry Ikem Obih came from ExxonMobil and had served as ED in NNPC during Buhari's time. David Ige worked in NNPC. Yusuf Usman also had a stint in Shell and NNPC. Some of these guys graduated first class and had a strong mix of public sector and private sector experience. The appointments are spot on and well thought out. We'd assess their performace within the next two years, God willing.

Sometimes, the media has the information but they are asked to stay put until the formal announcement is made. Some newspapers may have printed and started circulating; so the announcement needed to be made.

As for Mele Kyari, I heard rumours he had been given a deadline to get two refineries to work by December 2024 or get the boot. That may explain why he stayed long.

Same way they told media to keep anything about Wike health on hold..

Their first duty is to renegotiate with Dangote and bring back the Naira for Crude policy which President Tinubu with FEC gave approval and which was neglected as at the last time we check and was suspended by the sacked CEO and board.

Seeing the man's CV, I don't mind where he comes from at this time. Just hope somebody can do the right thing and we can have petrol prices start coming down once again
