Ogunlesi is officially British, when Nigerian billionaires were being recognised by Nigerians on Twitter, him and Awotona were omitted because they are not officially Nigerians. We should continue maintaining that energy. What a shame.
Smh. You need someone else to officially recognize you as the son of your own father and approve you as a son of the land of your own forebears. None of those two have such inferiority complex. As a matter of fact, the Yoruba believe that they have a superior culture to these countries so the Yoruba will deliberately retain his or her dentity and culture whether young or old. You saw it play out with Anthony Joshua wink

I am sure that you don't even know the meaning of his surname "OGUNLESI". Go and ask a Yoruba what those two names " OGUNLESI " and "AWOTONA" mean in Yoruba first then you may probably understand.

Ignorance mixed with low self esteem will ruin many of you ehn.

Talking in the nonsense. Someone born in Nigeria to Nigerian parents can never lose their Nigerian nationality even if they take on another nationality. At best, they are dual nationals but first and foremost, Nigerians, as the second nationality can be revoked.

Read somewhere that china blocked it
China can't block it. Only the Panama Government can. The owner has actually been looking for buyers since and wanted American company to cash out big time.
It's a strategic asset to US but not to China. The Panama Canal is equally expensive to manage because it is an artificial channel so sometimes the water can be too low for navigation for long.

Last year and upper year, Reuters reported that there was a long drought and Panama Canal's water levels did not recover enough for long even as the end of the rainy season approaches and limits on daily transit and vessel. An American company can be compensated by the US government for such down time because it's a strategic asset but it makes no sense for China to compensate a Chinese company for that long period of drought.

The US Government may choose to buy it from BlackRock at high premium wink

British citizenship or not, at the end of the day, everyone knows their origin. This is someone who went to Kings College in Lagos for secondary school and we all know once you finish secondary school in Nigeria, the Nigerian in you is forever.

His Wikipedia page begins with his Nigerian identity: "Adebayo "Bayo" O. Ogunlesi CON (born 20 December 1953) is a Nigerian lawyer and investment banker."

I remember when an Igbo was the first African to command a US warship when we were celebrating him, you guys said he is an American and it adds no value to us. Now you are changing tune because of Ogunlesi. The truth is he will still protect the European and American interests. He will not even stake a penny in any project in Nigeria on behalf of Blackrock or GIP
