The worst aspect is that he doesnt even understand how tariffs work. A person who came to office pledging to fight inflation is flinging tariffs around when clearly that will lead to a spike in prices and the impact will fall on American consumers.

Donald Trump just put a gun to the head of the global economy and pulled the trigger.
The last time tarriffs of this sort were implemented in 1929, the global economy entered a great depression. That was the Smooth - Hawley act. Since then economists have steered clear of tarriffs and never recommend them.

Trump being the eternal idiot that he is, has destroyed the global economy as it is. Rather unsurprisingly, he has left out only Russia from these tarriffs. He has always been a Russian asset.

There is no best response.
Each country responded based on how hard it hit them and how much power they have to retaliate.
Nigeria didn't even respond at all because they tariff will minimal effect on us.
