It was the free float of naira that initially made naira lose value against the USD but it's now stable. Imported goods adjusted along with the right pricing of naira against the USD as FG is no longer subsidizing the exchange rate.

Before placing tariffs on imported products, he should have increased his domestic production first. Just a little bird flu caused the price of eggs to skyrocket in US while it is very cheap in nearby Mexico and Canada. That is what tariffs cause.
