The denial of formal education to generations of Northern Nigerians by their selfish and greedy political moneyed elite is one of the greatest injustices that continues to be inflicted on a people. Some years back, I noted with amazement how the children of a poor Fulani family broke academic records in a secondary school in Nigeria's south, starting from the time they were awarded scholarships to gain an education for free.

That unexpected academic brilliance displayed by those Fulani students from poor families was a sobering revelation that led me to wonder how many such academic geniuses of Fulani descent are DEPRIVED of a chance to enrol in school, on account of how education is available only to the select few who can afford its high cost in Northern Nigeria.

Did you know Oxford started as a seminary? The first non religious department in Oxford was department of Arabic and it was mainly to translate the Arabic texts the crusaders brought back

While there do indeed exist universities in Nigeria where diplomas are up for sale or in trade-by-barter for sexual favors that SOME female students bestow on lecturers, there can be no denying that there exist numerous examples of stellar academic performance by graduates from ALL of Nigeria's tribal homelands, that can only be attributed to superior intellect implemented by virtue of diligent and focused study.

This is true. The brain would derive comparable benefits regardless of whether students were required to memorize the Quran, or to memorize the flight operations manual for a Boeing 737-900 passenger jet purely for the brain expanding benefits of such an exercise.

As a northerner born in the north, I had all of my education from primary school to masters degree in the north and having lived and worked in the south, I can tell you that I have very little to no regard for southern degrees as mostly (including yours) are not genuine.
