Any such list without H-MEDIX on it, is horseshit. Off the top of my head, in Wuse II alone, I can count 4, Asokoro 1, Guzape 1, Area 11 1, Garki by Rita Lori 1, Gwarimpa 2, Jahi 1, Dawaki 1... then in Kaduna, Kano

They used number of outlets not minding the size of each outlet

This is simple enough

You could come up with another ranking by size of outlets or number of staff working in each one
I just tire for some people oh! Nigerians are really deficient in terms of English language comprehension. Na why they fail their exams. Even when the topic says "top 10...by number of store count", he is ranting about comparison. Na wa oh!

The ₦500m I even used is a gross underestimation now that I remember very well the various sections ShopRite has with the various equipment.
The machines in the bread and other confectionery section alone is worth at least 100m.
So each ShopRite megastore alone should be worth at least ₦2b.
This is what one clown is comparing to Boku stores.
You should try to understand the heading before commenting. They're talking store count which means the number of stores and not the size. If it's by sizes now you can rate ShopRite and Spar higher

Useless comparisom. SQF/SQM of retail would have been better.

I think they are going to miss few other little stores because they are using a standardized supermarket chain reporting.
But Bokku marts are mostly smallish compared to shoprite stores or am I missing something?

The Tinubu renewed shege hard economy has made many supermarkets to struggle to survive the hard economy and many has shut down.. Tinubu should provide a conducive environment for businesses and supermarkets to thrive and excel

It's tiring

The level of attention or comprehension is generally low. Also, the average person wants to comment or trend or sound savage even with the low level of comprehension or understanding

Shoprite 2 billion ke? U mean all the products in each store around the country?

If it's all the products in each branch then u should be talking like 20 billion or more o.
The fashion shops and phone shops in them alone dwarf 2 billion naira.

So they are comparing Boku with its mainly kiosk like bread stores with Shoprite massive structures?
So a store with goods value of 20m is equivalent to one with goods and structure value of at least ₦500m?
Funny rating.
Though i kind of understand the game play by OP, he should also know that combination of all those bread kiosks by boku in every streets of Lagos can not equal one justrite store.

Imagine the number of boku shops in dopemu_lagos alone, same thing at egbeda. Even people that retail electrical parts or plumbing materials never open shops in that manner

I suspect someone is just using that means to bury his dividend of demo_crazy.
Re: Top 10 Supermarket Chains By Store Count In Nigeria by Sheuns(m): 6:44am On Apr 04, 2025
Bokku is a mart not a supermarket. Spar, ShopRite Zane market square are bigger and have more sections when compared to Bokku.

I’m sure their valuation will be higher than Bokku

I think he talks of one.

ShopRite in Festival mall alone is bigger than 10 - 20 Bokku marts in Lagos.

Makes sense...

Me thinks Bokku is just focusing on having more mini-superstores...

Can't be spoken with ShopRite and Jendol in same sentence....

But I applaud Bokku's strategy... The destination remains the same....

If you start your own business, put am for Abuja first, instead of Lagos first.

Lol...
Oga shut it! Anything that is in Lagos and not found in the FCT is totally inconsequential

Most of them like bokku, addide, jendol are just lagos, ogun and perhap ibadan base. They are localized and mainly small storelike. You can't compare them with gaints like shoprite, spar, Next, market Square etc
Re: Top 10 Supermarket Chains By Store Count In Nigeria by pocohantas(f): 7:09am On Apr 04, 2025
One day breeze go blow and fowl nyash go open. We would know the true motive of Bokku. You can't tell me any sensible businessman is buying up buildings and renovating them to sell bread and carton of malt.
