LP Caretaker Committee Chair, Usman reacts to Supreme Court Judgement on Abure by chisomkachy(op): 6:00pm On Apr 04, 2025
The recent ruling by the Supreme Court, which allowed the appeal filed by Senator Nenadi Usman—declaring it meritorious—while dismissing the cross-appeal filed by the Abure faction of the Labour Party as unmeritorious, is a victory for the rule of law and a significant milestone for our democracy.

It is important to emphasize that this is not a time for triumphalism—there is no victor and no vanquished. What matters most is our shared commitment to the ideals and aspirations of the Labour Party and the Nigerian people. We must now come together, united in purpose and vision, to move the party forward.

The Labour Party remains one indivisible family, steadfast in its mission to create a New Nigeria founded on justice, equity, and people-centered governance.

We call on all party members, supporters, and stakeholders to remain calm, focused, and committed to the democratic ideals that bind us.

A New Nigeria is POssible
!

-Senator Nenadi E. Usman, PhD
Chairman, Labour Party Caretaker Committee

Peter Obi is back on the driver’s seat on the leadership of Labour Party.

Haters can go mourn at Lamidi Apapa’s smelly toilet.

My fellow Nigerians, can you see what I'm seeing? grin.
Meanwhile, their leader was in an interview two days ago attacking the Judiciary and saying there's no democracy in Nigeria. But today, it is victory for democracy and the SC is getting all the hugs and kisses grin. Take these clowns and their wailing seriously at your own peril.
Let's wait for another time when the judgement won't favour you grin

The Supreme Court has, regrettably, allowed its integrity to be compromised, thereby diminishing its own credibility and becoming a shadow of the institution it is meant to be.

It remains to be seen whether the justices are prepared to distance themselves from the influence of individuals like Tinubu and Wike, and the allegations of corruption associated with them, particularly the perception of justice being commodified. One can only hope the Court finds its way back to the path of honor, independence, and true jurisprudence.

So why is your mushroom party hailing same Supreme Court right now? grin. We are not surprised how election losers flip flop depending on the side of court Judgements they find themselves.

I was waiting for someone to point this out.

That same man has gone to the supreme court more than any other politician I can think of and won case after case with his only loss being the presidential election cases.

Now he has won another case again and democracy is no longer under danger and the Supreme court is no longer reckless abi.

The hypocrisy of him and his movement is nauseating. Part of me thinks if they ever ruled us it would not be up to 2 years before a Morsi happened and the military takes over again (which they in their prettiness and short sightedness have called for already).

I will say it again, LP is not yet ripe to contest with the APC. They are just like the Andrew liver salt as described. Now we are seeing the reality.

If only the factions would agree and join forces and fight this common enemy.
The Vampires gathered together in 2014, the biggest gathering of divers political criminals ever in this country. They deployed every weapons in their arsenal including intimidation, threats, name calling, hiring hundreds of thousands Janjawed and Fulani terrorists. They organised protests against government policies of subsidy removal (same policy they have implemented now). Foolish Professor Soyinka on one side, Adeboye on the other side using religion, all to pull Jonathan's government down. They succeeded.

Today, this same Vampires don't want criticism, protest, dissent voices. They have reduced the populace to wretched and institutionalised tribalism, nepotism, corruption and praise singing.

If only the opposition would come together, jettison their personal ambition and fight this evil and take over power.

I don't think the supreme court have any other choice than rule the way they did any other ruling would have gone against their previous rulings where they made it clear that courts can't interfere in party's internal affairs we will take the supreme court serious when they ruled in favour of the pdp in the edo state governorship election case.

This party, which should have leveraged the massive exposure the Obidient movement brought to solidify its position in Nigeria's political landscape, is still battling internal and external conflicts. The momentum it once enjoyed has now faded. The few politicians who won elections on that platform should start considering other parties if they hope to retain their seats.
