YoungestPapa:Every curvature has a plain portion before it reaches its curved sections. Depending on the size of the rounded object, the distance through a plain could be very long. And when we're talking about flying objects such as a plane, we cannot be talking of curvatures in the air except the sky is curved. It's the earth that's curved, not the atmosphere around the earth. 2. On the sea shore, why do we see ships with a binoculars after they disappear from our eyes, and after they disappear from a binoculars we can see them with a telescope? They didn't disapper because they didn't descend into a slope. You can see them with a telescope up to a certain distance before they descend through the Earth's slopes. The telescope can't see from one end of the earth to the other. If it were so, then your theory would have been true. 3. Why does the earth look totally flat in videos of individuals who have sent balloons high up as against the curvature we see when NASA posts their videos. The videos from the balloons don't capture the entire earth and its surroundings. NASA's videos capture the full earth not just some sections of it. 4. If the sun is 93 million miles away from the earth, how is Nigeria so hot and at same time the USA 3,000-4,000 miles away is in winter? The earth is 93 million miles away from the Sun, not Nigeria or USA being 93 miles away from the sun. The distance of countries to each other wouldn't matter because the sun is all encompassing as far as its relationship with the earth is concerned. For example, if you place a heat emitting soccer ball over a group of ants who are somewhat distant from each other, they'll all experience the same heat temperature because they're still all directly under the ball anyway. Also note that the earth undergoes constant position changing due to rotation and revolvement. If the earth were flat as you opined, we should all experience the same weather and sunshine conditions at the same time, but the reverse is the case. 5. Why have all individual experiments (since the Bedford experiment in the 1800's) to measure the curvature of the earth all shown that there is no curvature? The Bedford experiment, performed by Samuel Rowbotham in 1838, was an attempt to measure the curvature of the Earth. However, the experiment had several methodological flaws and has been widely debunked by the scientific community. Regarding the claim that individual experiments have shown no curvature, it's crucial to consider the following: 1. Experimental limitations: Many experiments, especially those conducted in the 19th century, had limitations in terms of precision, instrumentation, and methodology. 2. Confirmation bias: Some experiments may have been designed or interpreted with a preconceived notion, leading to biased results. 3. Lack of peer review: Not all experiments are subject to rigorous peer review, which is essential for ensuring the quality and validity of scientific research. In contrast, overwhelming evidence from various fields of science, including: - Satellite imagery: High-resolution images of the Earth from space clearly show its spherical shape. - Ships disappearing over the horizon: As a ship sails away, it will eventually disappear from view as it sinks below the horizon due to the Earth's curvature. - Circumnavigation: Many people have traveled around the world, completing circumnavigations that would be impossible if the Earth were flat. - Gravity: The force of gravity pulls objects towards the center of the Earth, which is only possible if the Earth is a sphere or an oblate spheroid. The sea is glued as a result. The butterfly flies because it applies a counter force against gravity to move in the opposite direction of the gravitational pull. Water would likewise move up if it's so forced up. Example, when you scoop water from a bowl, the water is indirectly flying up even if you have scooped it from the ocean. - Measurements of the Earth's shadow: During a lunar eclipse, the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow on the lunar surface. The shape of this shadow is curved, indicating that the Earth is a sphere. These lines of evidence, along with many others, conclusively demonstrate that the Earth is not flat, but rather an oblate spheroid. |

EasternActivist:Exactly the point that invalidates the flatness of the earth. At the same time, if the earth is indeed curved, then when a plane lifts and flies, considering its speed, it is only logical to conclude that it must dip in altitude when traveling to certain places or it will fly into space. For instance, a plane coming from Russia to South Africa has to dip in altitude or it will fly into space. Or am I getting something wrong? |

Gbadebo19:The continents of the earth are surrounded by an ice wall as shown in the picture. The ice wall keeps the oceans intact. This is why they want to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases which causes a warming of the earth and a resultant melting of ice sheets. Further warming will expose other lands once hidden from man.

Truth is relative. It is a function of amounts of knowledge hold by the believer. You study geography and not Geoscience. The scope of your study is far below what you're trying to proof. Leave the shape of the earth for Geoscientist that study the earth as a whole (from space to the core) and astronauts not just the physical features and cultural features on it. you didn't even include satellite imagery as your evidence but medium to low altitude imagery to proof the whole earth. In this century where spacecrafts has landed on moon and even exploring mars. You are still proving backward. Maybe you're trying to justify catholic beliefs anyway. |

Gbadebo19:Heard of the Antarctic treaty? All the nations signed to protect the ice wall. You'll be turned back as you approach the ice wall. Soldiers are guarding it. |
| Re: I Feel So Useless With My PhD In Geomorphology, this Is why. by Gbadebo19(m): 9:20pm On Apr 04, 2025 |
YoungestPapa:First, The Antarctic treaty does not say anything about an ice wall. As far as it's concerned, it is for the purpose of abolishing military experiments, and in fact allowed for scientific research. So if the Antarctic treaty is anything to go by, it definitely will allow for the purpose of observing the so called ice wall. Secondly, you stated that all the continents of the world are protected by an ice wall, assuming I am wrong about the Antarctic treaty, then the scientific research can simply be carried out elsewhere apart from Antarctica. I mean the Antarctic treaty will apply only to Antarctica, not Africa, not Australia. I think you need to re evaluate your positions. This things may look confusing and overwhelming. |

I don't believe in a flat earth because I don't know much about the globe. I believe in a flat earth because I know a lot about the globe and it's ridiculous. One exercise that I've been a part of is observing Polaris, the North Star. We had 3 people observe Polaris through a telescope. One from China, another from the US and the third from the UK. They all saw Polaris at the same time...they observed for one week straight and Polaris didn't move an inch. This cannot happen of we're hurting through space along with the sun NASA somehow measured the earths curvature and they said it's 8 inches per square mile. So the earth dips 8 inches every mile - this supports the supposed ship disappearance as you watch from the harbor. But we have seen that the ships don't disappear. Again people have observed ships through the Nikon P100 telescope move a distance of up to 6,7 and 8 miles from the harbor. Is this not enough to prove there's no curvature? Flight paths have also supported the flat earth. You see funny stops flights make, that doesn't make any sense on the world map. You see flights follow a long path, makes a stop and continue to it's destination, which is just at the backyard from where it took off. Then you place the flight paths on a flat earth and you see the location the flight stopped is just in between the take-off and the destination. Did you guys know that Internet connections and phone calls go through cables? Not satellites. There are under sea cables connecting continents. The map of fibre optic under sea cable shows that we live on a flat earth. Notice how there are no cables connected between the supposed short distances between Africa and South America and Australia. When observed on a flat earth, you realize these Continents are really far apart. You ever asked google how fast the international space station moves? Lol. 17,500 miles per hour. We have had scientist on the ISS do a video of the craft showing the earth as it moves 17,500 miles per hour. Do you know how fast a bullet moves.? 2,000 miles per hour. You literally cannot see a bullet because of the speed and yet these guys want us to believe that the ISS travels that fast in the videos we've seen online. Some of you people need to just wake up and think for yourselves. Don't be deceived.

ekineme:Flat earthers are critical thinkers. They're the ones who reject the scientific theories for what they observe and measure and you call them conspiracy theorists. Globists are the the ones who believe in all the theories - theory of relativity, evolution, gravity, bigbang and all. |
| Re: I Feel So Useless With My PhD In Geomorphology, this Is why. by Mabuggi88: 4:04am On Apr 05, 2025 |
For the balloons, they can not capture the real shape of the earth because they are still within the earth surface. If you want to capture the real shape of the earth, go to another plenary body. My counter to your argument: 1. How many miles can Binoculars go? If there's is a limit to a distance they can go, then, your argument doesn't hold some water But if they are limitless, then you are correct. But unfortunately, Binoculars with highest magnifications can only see about 10 to 15 miles when the Earth itself is almost 25,000 Miles.😄😄. So as far as the Ship is still moving while being viewed under Binoculars means the ship has not gotten to the point of Curvature, that's simple. Secondly, If the earth is actually flat, they won't be day and night. And they won't be regular seasons(Winter and summer). If the earth is flat, they should be only a day or a night and only one season where every places and locations of the earth will have one Timing . So if there's day and night and seasons on earth, it means the earth revolves or rotate. Now tell me, does a flat surface rotate? My man the earth is Spherical |

| Re: I Feel So Useless With My PhD In Geomorphology, this Is why. by YoungestPapa(op): 7:31am On Apr 05, 2025 |
ruggedtimi:Did you know that all the images of planets you're shown by NASA including our earth which they call the blue marble are CGI? You know what that means? They edit the images. So they see luminaries high up above and give an interpretation, then edit it to look like what they want it to be and project it to you and I. NASA has the most picture and video editors. Many people have found the same shape of cloud copied and pasted many times around the earths image. |
