It's really sad to see some of the recent refusals. They should let people know their chances ahead of time instead of wasting their money. However, I don't entirely blame them because our people tend to overdo things. There are individuals seeking asylum in Canada who have a history of holding UK student permits and visit visas, so it's no longer new to them.

Well I will have to see what the GCM note says. Probably travel to Europe come back and try US.

What you need is your UCI number and your Application number, contact your agent( i am not sure he will give it to you ) and request for the numbers with out that you are at the mercy of your agent.

YOur UCI number and application number are on your bio etric form .....one start with 11-0000-0000. AND THE application number start with V for visitor V000000. LOOK AT it very well and reply then l can guide you step by step to order ur gcms note and you see what you agent submited

My mum’s PPR is finally out… 3 days shy of 6 months. I sent another webform and sent a message to the Member of Parliament yesterday so that may have pushed it out. I’m a PR btw.

For those that have been waiting longer than 5 months, you may explore those options.

For those that submitted their passport to vfs recently after visa approval, can you put me through on how to go about it. Can I use DHL or ups to send the passport? I don't live in Abuja or Lagos and the Biometrics was done in Abuja.

MR man u don't need to reply with calling someone u don't know mumu, i have seen people that wait for 2yrs and still get the visa..... the same person did for my friend Jan 2024 she get a call last month to summit passport she stays in UK..... so stop calling people mumu when you are dropping comments on a group

Good morning. This is my opinion; at the end of the day, what you want to do is more important. But I do not think applying for your GCMS will affect your application, you are simply asking to know the status of your application, and the agent does not have to know you are doing that. You have waited so long; what harm will it cause for you to request to know why the delay? You have nothing to lose by requesting your GCMS note. But as I said, this is my personal opinion, you have the final say on what you want to do.

pls did you check uk processimg time that is 1 year comparing it to nigeria that is 5 to 6 month and urs is over 1 year... pls order gcms note without the agent using ur real email becos your visa probably refussed already and ur gcms note is not connected to visa approval or refusal and point of correction,ircc will not call you when visa is ready that not ircc pattern.

Uk processing time is not d same with Nigeria. Except you too u r in d UK, if not, i put it to u that ur application already has a decision, and i pray u weren't banned cos i dont knw y ur agent wouldn't tell u d outcome of ur application.
Pls order for ur gcms note, its free of charge and wont jeopardise anything. It takes 30 days.

Hello some one posted this some time back, and i have used it, and it was free Just follow the steps:-



This is actually for GCMS notes via CBSA

- Go to Google, search ATIP
- Pick the first option from the list of results
- When the page opens, click on next
- click/mark the privacy box and click continue
- on the next page, select Canada Border Services Agency from the drop-down
- from the next drop-down, select a foreign national outside of Canada
- fill out your required information in the boxes below
(Use your Nigerian address and phone number pls)
- Pick yes to the question about requesting information on your behalf if so
- pick member of the public for the category that best describes you
- Pick electronic copy for how you prefer to receive your notes/records
- click continue
- on the next page, pick privacy act on the 1st drop-down
- select English in the next drop-down
- select case files for the type of records
- fill out all necessary information below(for UCI number, use the format XX-XXXX-XXXX)
- In the comment box, write a short intro and your request. Eg:
Hello/Hi
My name is SURNAME, First Second. I have applied for a visit visa, my UCI is ...... and my application number is ......, DOB. I would like to have the notes for my file
- then click continue
- also click continue on the next page(you don't fill anything here)
- You are taken to the final page where you review or edit your info
- Check the I certify box and click continue
- You should receive a confirmation email from CBSA

Please what does it mean when you get a mail from ircc that “We updated your application status” but when you check there is no changes on the application.

It means either they closed your file after denial or that they updated ur biometrics after u applied again.

There’s a current challenge situation with applicants from Nigeria, as many granted visas for visits or conferences end up overstaying or making asylum claims. This has caused Nigeria to be labelled as the third-largest source of Canada visa overstays, making visa approval rates stricter and refusal rate very high .. While you’ve travelled extensively, clarifying where you’ve travelled can help strengthen your application.

For your visa application their are many video on youtube to guide you step by step on how to apply business/visit visa , complete the process on the IRCC website, providing documents like your passport, proof of employment, travel itinerary, invitation letter for the retreat, and financial proof. Your sponsors should provide an invitation letter, sponsorship confirmation, and proof of their legitimacy. Regarding your previous visa denial, be transparent about it, explain the circumstances, and highlight your positive travel history since then. Emphasize strong ties to Nigeria, like landed properties and remote work, to show you’ll return after the retreat.

However, to be honest, with over 13,000 Nigerians who arrived in Canada last year (2024) within eight months to claim asylum, we are likely to see a massive refusal rate for a long time. It’s quite sad!
