Well, whether they were hunters or not, government and security agents are to share in the blame for these killings. There's a certain level of distrust for NPF and other federal security agencies in handling these menace of insecurity

I believe strongly that those guys were kidnappers who had been terrorizing different communities in the South but as usual, the security agencies quickly bought into their claims of being hunters because in this country there seems to be a grand plan to give special protections and privileges to northern Hausa-Fulanis.

Chances are that they're actually kidnappers. You can't blame people who lynched them especially if you have loved ones that have fallen victim of kidnapping. As much as killing them is barbaric, they moved suspiciously. They didn't stop for search, and when forced, a member of the vigilante group was stabbed, coupled with the fact that they were hiding in the truck.
What reasonable person should be asking is if these claims were true and not just dismiss it. The trailer, together with the passengers would have been burnt if it happened in the North.
