America is good in chickens. Many poultry farmers would go out of business. Zero % import duty on American cars would lead to a collapse of the car assembly plants in Nigeria. Sales of tokunbo cars would boom (treadway would love this one).

Nigerian corn farmers might also be adversely affected,. Nigerian rice farmers would go out of business. Nigeria would probably be flooded with rice from the US.

Do I support this? Yes. I'm for free trade. The downside is government would lose lots of easy to collect import duty.

Why would Tinubu toe the line of Zimbabwe? That's pure loss of revenue and make Zimbabwe a dumping ground for American goods. Can't you see how EU countries, China, Canada, Russia etc are responding to the US Tariff hike? That's what Nigeria would do. We're not Zimbabwe and probably Zimbabwe have something to collect from US.

Nigeria should work on security and power , then implement a policy that says major companies must produce here if you want to sell your product here, this will reduce importations , increase local production and create employment

the Koko is that we are not purchasing anything from US. Most of our purchases are second hand and they're not calculated as trade. What Trump doesn't understand is that American goods and services are too expensive for most people in the world and his tariffs will push people away even more

Right thing to do. Trump reciprocal tariff simply means levying the same tariff you have already levied on goods imported from the US.

So by operating zero tariff on US imported good, the US, will reciprocate the gesture.. Zero tariff on imports from Zimbabwe.

Suspending tarrifs on all America product is good for Zimbabwe populace cos it will make all American products coming to d country more cheaper and accessible but it might hurt government revenue which might affect other responsibilities if d government can find other ways to fill d revenue lost from the import it will be a big win cos in future Zimbabwe might become a gateway for American products to reach other African countries. More business to grow, enlarge and government will still make more money from those products somehow.
