Tinubu online miscreants and asslickers told us that it is normal. They said that in other countries you don't need to go to shoprite to shop. They said that we were living fake life during the days of Jonathan's PDP when shopping malls were filled to the brime.
This is the real life and it is good for us, they said.

I spit on you all foreheads, idiots.

So you want fuel subsidies back, to “restore” the FAKE economy?

SORRY, NO MORE FREE OIL. MOVE ON.
Stop this nonsense. Where were you when Nigeria was number 1 economy in Africa back to back? The GDP of every nation determines her position in the committy of nations economically . Are you saying that the number 4 position we're currently occupying in africa is our real position and the previous number 1 position we occupied was fake? We're behind ordinary Morocco now.

How would you explain the multinationals who had left Nigeria for other african nations cos of Tinubu's unintelligent policies? Only in Nigeria will a comment like yours be made and that tells how many of the Nigerian people are actually intelligent.

What would you say about our bastardised currency. The cfa that used to be useless has left the naira far behind. Is that also our true position? What of several businesses that have shut down? It's in my country you'll see a president awarding contracts to his company and be frustrating a local investor like dangote who's trying his best to take stress off the Nigerian neck by reducing pump.price because it's not favouring his businesses. Is Tinubu there for his pocket or for the suffering Nigerians? How can investors come in when he's treating dangote this way, just to protect his investment in malta?

Nigerians are truly gullible. This nonsense can't happen in another african country.

A Nigerian man has expressed shock at the unusually empty state of ShopRite at Silverbird on a Saturday afternoon. He didn’t expect the mall to be so deserted, with only a few shoppers trickling in. This, he says, raises serious concerns about the true condition of the Nigerian economy.
He noted that Saturday afternoons are typically when families flock to malls to shop.

However, due to the current economic situation in the country, only one till was operating out of several available in the mall. He pointed out that this stark emptiness reflects the harsh reality of the economy, as many people can no longer afford the basic items they once eagerly came to buy.

The video capturing this scene has since gone viral, sparking widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing deep concern over the state of the economy.

All these opposition ShopRites are trying to ridicule the effort of Mr president. .... Online urchins.

So who is the money with? And what’s is the proof of saving the money?
Which state are you from? You don't know that allocation to states have doubled and some have even trippled since subsidy removal?

It's funny how you all can identify the wickedness of APC and Tinubu but can't see the rottenness and failures in your various states, despite the fact that states and LGAs get 60% whenever allocation is shared

Yet Jendol is thriving... I used to feel for ShopRite until I saw how well Jendol is doing, so it's not about the economy but about how they conduct their business.

ShopRite don cast for Lagos. It's more of a tourist attraction than shopping. You can just go for window shopping there and go home
It's a pity.
When 3rd world country wants to improve it's economy but is still importing foreign goods like mad.
Everybody has imported their needs from foreign countries and now rendered Shoprite useless.

You just wasted time replying the person you were replying. People that believed that living in Nigeria is relatively cheaper than US since 10 dollars can't buy you food in US but 1 dollar can do that in Nigeria?

Their prices compared to MSQ and Justrite, etc are too much
And people are now very price sensitive

There's something Adam Smith calls comparative advantage. That's what Nigeria has in Crude oil.

Crude oil is something Nigeria has in large quantities. We can decide to subsidize it for our citizens and sell at international prices outside the country.

The problem with people like you is that you keep defending everything your foolish and greedy leaders tell you. You people need to stop being stupid and foolish at the same time.

Why shop at shoprite when you can get it cheaper at the closest iya basirat shop.
At Shoprite you're sure you're buying original Coca-Cola or Bailey's unlike Iya Basira who is probably selling fake drinks that were produced in someone's backyard under very poor hygiene undecided

How can you sit in ONE PLACE and say nothing is improving in Nigeria?

Are you aware that the states’ monthly allocation has increased 4 or 5 fold since the removal of subsidies?

Are you aware that EVERY STATE is now a construction site in Nigeria?

Are you aware that the STATES receive 60% of the annual budgetary allocation?

Why do you all IGNORE your state governors and local govt officials who get all these millions of dollars every month from the FG?

The states have autonomy to generate their own power, build their infrastructure, harness their resources etc. So…?

Your focus should be on THEM, your local leaders, not on Tinubu or “Nigeria”.

You are LOST in your own backyard, your state, yet you are talking about “Nigeria”.
I saw your first post and decided to ignore because I trust sane Nairalanders to engage you, but I won't let this one slide...

Oga, you don't know what you're saying...
Was this what the government promised during their campaign?

If the presidency is widening the tax bracket and slowing down the economy and almost all the state governors are loyalist, what can they do to cushion the effect of the actions of the presidency?

All of a sudden, you're pushing the responsibility of improved power supply to states grin You're just a very funny person!

Imaginé.

Leaving the “subsidy” would have been better. A lot of economy-related suicides would never have happened. Hmmm

However…all the aspirants did say they would remove the subsidy.

Which raises the question…”does anyone in government, or aspiring to governance really know what they are doing?”

Please let her be. Many people fell for Buhari's 1984 propaganda in 2015 including me but we all turned around from that foolishness since 2019. To be fair to us, we were honest which was why after assessing his first tenure, we stopped supporting him. We are not like the cretins who support APC because of 30k stipends.
