Oga! Stop this foolish comparison. You forget that $10 is next to nothing in the United States Its like saying #100 naira in Nigeria. But #1500? It can save someone from depression in Naija. So stop the comparison. It doesn't hold water |

And this one will claim that he has Phd, with all yet all the intellect which supposedly got you your position, corruption has made them so blind to the truth, how would an economist be comparing the value of what $10 in the US to Nigerian naira? |

This man is unwise. Minimum wage in these countries is like $20 per hour or like $200 per day if you work for standard 10hrs. That's like $1,000 dollars per week minus overtime. It's really silly and stupid to make such comparisons between naira and dollars without talking about the purchasing power or minimum wage of it's citizens. That's how Tinubu administration make these guys reason so stupidly |

In as much as I do not like this this government, his position is right. I have often use this analogy to explain value of currency. It is called purchasing power parity. How much is a standard price for eggs, a loaf of bread and standard plate of meal. 5 thousand naira can give you a pretty decent meal. The exchange rate of a dollar naira is not real, it based on loads of imperfect market manipulations. Everyone is chasing the dollars, there is little to go round. Everyone in nigeria is speculating with the dollar and naira. |

It is very easy to make 100 dollar in USA than to make one dollar here on Nigeria unless you are here in Nigeria doing forex trading. |

darkwan:See this one! na RIP dey hungry you. We are not talking about going out to eat. You are missing the point here. This discussion is whether $10 can afford a good meal in the US. But I am even insisting that with $1 you can eat well and feel fine even in US. There is nothing about feeling fine in eating at a restaurant. |

These people are intentionally evil. Asides that this portrays how weak our economy is in comparison to the american one, the question is, how many nigerians can afford that 1$ to eat? How much does an average nigerian make in a day? Calculate your minimum wage and convert it to dollar and then give me a break down of the spendings in meeting bills in nigeria and let's see how many days it can cover. You guys should continue in your intentional lies and wickedness but one thing is sure that God would never hold you people guiltless and the wicked would never go unpunished. |

Funny characters will eventually put other funny characters into sensitive positions. They lack empathy. It's the common who I pity in all these. How has those big men helped you? |

The miscreants have gathered to cry her again. The fact is, there has never been a time that Nigeria was good and people could afford everything without stealing and bribery. Now that the money Nigeria had has run out, y’all need to bear it. Your fathers enjoyed the loots, so now you have to share in the hardships, but thank God that we have president Tinubu who is fixing the system so people can learn to spend what they can afford and appreciate hardwork. |

Have you considered income? The per capita GDP is different, so the consumption pricing is of course different. Are you still proud of this statement? We should analyze the problem rationally. Lapel pins |
