Because we're always ready for a good deal.

But we’re also prepared to respond with countermeasures.

In Trumpiverse, there's no scenario in which America wins on this tariff matter. The current system is not weighted against America, but Mr Trump just wants to see a trade surplus - because he has a kid's understanding of these things. If that happens, the price Americans will pay is not something you want to imagine. But let's see.
