TimeManager:While it's right to be back, I'm sure she's not coming back empty handed but to start a meaningful life here. If some get the chance to travel abroad and work for 4 years then return home, they are coming to open their business because with good capital, Nigeria have the market size for any business to grow. Opening hair business alot like the one on her head with lot of capital in Lagos, she will definitely be fine while she enjoys seeing her family. She has lots some happiness and connections. |

I took this same decision years back and my friends were like, What are you doing in Congo? (They refer to Nigeria as Congo). I will always choose Nigeria ahead of any country. |

jaxxy:That's just it...! Not to mention already securing the all-important American citizenship. Once you have that second option to return at any time or go to other nations, it becomes quite easy to return. I just hate the way they turn around to create the impression that America or that foreign nation that helped them is now overrated. Such insincere attitudes. |

She’s not sincere; they should ask her how long she’s been in the USA. Most of us are not planing to live all our lives in the US, if I have the kind the money that would give me the kind of life I want, I would prefer to live somewhere in Nigeria not because Nigeria is a better place but e get why. |

franchasng:Damn! Who offend you like this? You know am from somewhere?!! You might be right, but you are likely to be wrong as well. I know a lot of successful people who have since relocated back to Nigeria. A lot of them simply miss the familiarity and cultural attachments back in their countries of birth, and it's not just Nigerians. Even some that were born and raised abroad still visit Nigeria more regularly. ....And even if you are right, don't you think it's in the best interest of her peace of mind and mental fulfillment to desire family and familiarity?!! A lot of foreigners abroad struggle badly for years to fully acclimatise to living such barely social lives there, which is far worse where people of your nationality are few. |

CoronaVirusPro:Out of the over 300 Million Nigerians living in Nigeria, how many of them have 1. Access to quality and affordable health care 2. Electricity that is stable and abundant 3. Potable and clean water 4. Security of lives and properties 5. Well paying jobs and stable financial futures 6. Retirement plans that are free of debts 7. Accommodation that is affordable and decent 8. Quality education with up-to-date curriculum 9. Emergency services 10. Excellent road networks Etc... So, what exactly makes you so comfortable in the delusion that life is way better here than over there?!! |

Angelfrost:Trust me, they are still at peace. The American dream make you run till death. You can NEVER have peace unless you faking it. It’s system that will be put you on your toes forever! Remember, you own NOTHING. Circumstances just need happen and you lose it all. |

Some very shallow thinking people, most probably people who never seen money in their lives thinks that everything revolves around money. Even when you support a candidate that's different from theirs, they think someone must have paid you. That's because they can be paid to say and do anything. Very irritating and shallow way of reasoning. |

| Re: Everything Is Not About Money– Nurse Judith On Leaving US For Nigeria by Angelfrost(m): 11:39pm On Apr 07, 2025 |
CoronaVirusPro:Nope... Nothing shows the Nigerian system is better. Claiming not to owe debts just because the system is corrupt and poorly subsidised makes no sense. The problem the very few of us that are privileged in Nigeria have is the constant belief that living in Nigeria is far better than elsewhere. It's so far from the truth. Talking about debts, your country is highly indebted and barely credit worthy... Your shocking low tax to income rate further deepens that false narrative. How many Nigerians can afford to own a car before 45?!! We even have 30 - 40 year olds living in their communal family houses, completely unable to fend for themselves. |

| Re: Everything Is Not About Money– Nurse Judith On Leaving US For Nigeria by Nobody: 11:45pm On Apr 07, 2025 |
Angelfrost:You buttressed my point unknowingly. People have fallbacks in Nigeria. Nigerians outrightly buy with the government not chasing them. A American will pick up any car to fake it on debt. Nigerians own houses outrightly whether built in Ikorodu or Sango. They own it forever. Nigeria is cash economy. People buy phones, houses, cars and jewelry’s with cash. They are never indebted for years. They attend schools with cash, not credit. Yes, Nigeria got bad leaders and economy not good, but trust me, we are happier than an average American. |

TimeManager:How many young Nigerians have you helped back home? Stop using this woman's story to catch cruise. She might be frustrated of some heinous indulgence that turns out bad for her. As a certified nurse, it's easier to make a healthy living and be comfortable in the USA than in Nigeria by far. There's something this woman is not telling us. |

franchasng:How do you know she doesn't have a thriving business or investment set up in Nigeria before relocation. She just told you, it's not about money. Even her savings as a Nurse in America is enough for her live on in Nigeria till she die, she can always go back 1 or 2 months and work as a travelling nurse and be back in Nigeria living a better quality life at a cheaper cost. |
| Re: Everything Is Not About Money– Nurse Judith On Leaving US For Nigeria by Angelfrost(m): 11:58pm On Apr 07, 2025 |
CoronaVirusPro:Chief, I am well grounded in the way of life in Nigeria and Abroad...! I know both systems intimately. You are still talking and speaking for less than a fraction of Nigerians. If you subsidise the Japa path by over 40% today, you will have no health care, engineering and other professionals left in Nigeria! Facts! Even your universities will be devoid of lecturers. Now, regarding the credit system abroad, it's still a working system with a way around it for anyone with good financial intelligence. It was designed to give the average working American a chance at living a good life which is not bad. It's just like an average wage earner in Nigeria being able to own a car by paying a fraction every month over 3 years... That's making lives better. Those who suffer high debts are those lacking discipline with regards to spending through Credit limits See bro, I don't prefer one system to the other, but claiming that absence of credit in Nigeria is better since it keeps most citizens debt-free is overreaching. Your low tax net in Nigeria is not an advantage please... It is part of what makes the nation backward, coupled with corruption and poor leadership. |

Don't let her talk deceive you, she is either from a rich home or she has saved enough of her earnings as a nurse in the US to relocate to naija and start a business. |

In three days time, we will forget this news. In three months to three years, if the country doesn’t favour her, she’ll silently return to the hustle of the Yankee environment. She’ll start making money again while trolls on Nairaland will remain trolls. Since 2006, no motion in you people’s lives. I pity una. All you do is wake up, type rubbish, go to bed and repeat the cycle every day. |
