The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has declared the title of Sarkin Sasa in the Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State as null and void and not recognised by Ibadan Traditional Chieftaincy Law.

This declaration was made during the Olubadan-In-Council meeting, which was held on Monday at Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, in Ibadan.

The PUNCH reports that the late Sarkin Sasa was the Chairman of the Council of Arewa Traditional Rulers in the 17 Southern States of Nigeria.

In a swift move to fill the leadership vacuum, one of his sons, Ahmed Haruna (Ciroma), was unanimously nominated as the new Sarkin Sasa by the family and the traditional councils of the 17 Southern states without the consent of Olubadan.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the monarch, Gbenga Ayoade, in Ibadan, the state capital, on Tuesday, said, “Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa is the recognised Baale of Sasa land in the Akinyele Local Area of the state, and the accredited representative of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“Let it be noted that any individual or group of persons in Sasa land are under the authority of the Baale of Sasa land; Akinade Ajani. It is therefore imperative to accord him the appropriate respect and authority. Any disobedience to his directive will be met with serious sanctions as it will be considered an affront to the Olubadan stool,” Olubadan warned.

Go to Ibadan and tell Olubadan to reinstate the title. No be by cho cho.

One Nigeria only allow free movement. It never tell anyone to impose a title on a tribal region they are never part of.

If they never beat all those useless people parading themselves with titles in alien land, their brain no go reset.

In their land, they practice the worst form of protectionism. But in other people land, they will push the idea of free will and when you react, they label you tribalist.

He was a good friend of Abacha

.I understand what's happening now

There was this claim in the 90s that Sasa belongs to the Hausas

They claimed then that they settled there first and therfore only they have the right to a ruler in the land

I think the then Sarkin Sasa was successful in that preposterous bid because of his closeness to Abacha

I'm sure this is now the time to rectify that nonsense

Hausas do not own any part of Ibadan

I expect their elites to start foaming at the mouth and shooting rants from the north any time from now

The hiksos movement has already begun in d West some years ago. Even if Nigeria divides, Yorubaland will share their territories with Igbos and Hausas.

They have bought your fathers houses and farms. They position their investment in your region. They import their people daily into your region
