His impatience led to his coalition to form APC. The space was no longer wide enough and he left. His political error cost his Kwara state, a state that his father carefully groomed and preserved since 1979. When he pushed his father away, he thought that Kwara state was in the palm of his hands. He did not reckon that by his attempt to destroy PDP, he was pushing himself down the political ladder in the matter of a little time.

He has again forgotten that if Tinubu can block the formation of a new party, a coalition can proceed with an existing party. How is he so sure that in the last moments, some PDP governors would not be willing to fund a coalition. If it will serve their interest and they made the right political arithmetics or permutations, they may go ahead to fund the party.

What Saraki needs to do now is to get Atiku off the attempt to secure the PDP Presidential ticket in 2027. S the reality is that by their unwritten agreement, power will remain in the South until 2031. A solid southern candidate should be supported contest a against Tinubu. Again, the reality is the Trinity has the necessary state and personal resources to contest in 2027. However a formidable candidate must be supported, otherwise PDP as a party will become a forgotten party after 2031.

Saraki is a season politician, he's talking from experience. He has been in the ruling party, opposition party and coalition party before now, so when he's talking, he's talking from experience.
Look at what comes of El-Rufai also after all the SDP coalition noise.
The common enemy is BOLA AHMED TINUBU, unfortunately that enemy has also taste it all like saraki just that in his case he's always the rally point (the brain behind the opposition movement, coalition movement and presently ruling movement), how he wants to be defeated requires a upper thinker and as far as today Nigeria politics is concern, none comes to mind.

One of the biggest mistake PDP made was allowing Tinubu to snatch a very deadly striker like Wike from them. It was like Barca losing prime Messi. It should never have happen.

In Wike, PDP had a financier and a mobilizer who can play very rough and dirty both on the street and in the court room. The moment Tinubu signed him was the moment PDP died. Sadly, folks like El-Rufai and Atiku can't pull his kind of clout. The only other politician with Wike's kind of clout is Tinubu himself. With both of them now aligned, I don't see the miracle that opposition can pull. But then, nothing is impossible in politics.

I know so, the point he raised that I commented on is the ability of people not to have the suppprt of a sitting governor yet voted against a sitting governor/government and their choice winning.

Even southern kaduna people who were majorly Christians are ready to vote Tinubu now bcoz he's done so much for them.

If this speculation is true, it suffices to say that the PDP is responsible for its current trajectory to doom.

Truth be told, after the successive "shock" defeats suffered by the party since 2015, it has never remained the same.

Tinubu that took power when he had no power and against all odds. Is it now that he has full power that anyone would want to challenge him? He won’t allow the north to break the complete 8 years of Southern presidency. He would rather ensure another southerner wins the presidency than allow any northerner to break the 8yrs. If north fail to support the south for the 8yrs then be sure, the north will be fragmented subsequently as no northerner will be able to make it to the presidency again easily. Only Buhari has a 12m block vote in the north which no other northern politician can boast of. This is politics and Tinubu is the grandmaster of it all. Right now he is building young leaders across the nation that will take the country to next level after his administration. If you are above 60yrs old, you are automatically disqualified from contesting for the presidency. There is a joker in the pack.

Saraki appears to fall into the second category for me and I already gave the example with how he destroyed his own father’s political empire, while thinking that he had come of age. The rest became history when otoge gained momentum and swept him away from his Kwara base.

I also gave my second reason with the way he joined the coalition with BAT, Atiku, Buhari, etc to sweep his own political party out of power. He handed that power over to BAT and now there he is, lost and bereft of ideas on getting better power from the same APC/BAT that he assisted to bring to power.

It was the late Chuba Okadigbo, at a time an ally of BAT, who once used the words “reading the political barometer and doing the arithmetics”. He meant to let everyone know that politics is all about calculations and permutations. BAT is the type who plans the opportunity, sees it, takes advantage of it. With people like him in politics, you must be wide awake. An error can be very costly. That’s what the likes of Saraki, Atiku, Amaechi, Kwankwanso, Ngige, etc, did and now the pay the price.

So for me his point does not make sense. When LP was accused of not having structures, Obi clearly stated several times that the structure was the people, and not the physical offices nationwide, as thought. We saw the result when LP in that instance secured 35 seats in the house of reps.

The economy is the issue. Infrastructures are the issues. Hardship and pervasive poverty are the issues. Get a good and trusted leader, who knows what to say to the people. Back him up and get the people to follow him. Tinubu did the same in 2014 and 2019. Certainly BAT will get a run for his money.

You're very right regarding Saraki. It shame that overwhelming him to return to APC and is very likely he might port back, but in critical condition because his once base that he used as leverage as been largely dismantled by Otoge movement. While is more of charismatic leader more than the present Gov. His entry back to APC might help me back at the center.

As for opposition/coalition party, the only option that can prove very fatal for Tinubu reelection is coming together of both Atiku/Obi under one party on time with lots sacrifice from sides. So True and spot on. Also allowing wike to remain in PDP is one of the most stupid things I have seen done by a political party. Many past and present PDP governors are friends or loyalists of wike.

Tinubu's government doesnt end in 2031. He believes in continuity. Look at the case of Lagos state, only continuity guarantees continued delivery of dividends of democracy. All these TRUMP and BIDEN approach to democracy will kill investors confidence in governance. Look at Russia, China, the Uk, North korea and many of these big countries, they dont do all the 4 years on and off leadership.

Atiku/Obi .. is the winning formula. If they can work as nationalists, not ethnic or religious opportunists like Tinubu.

Tinubu has a two pronged strategy;
1. I am a southerner
2. I am a muslim

First dismantle (2) with Atiku; who's a liberal muslim, then dismantle (1) with Obi who's strongly supported by the catholic church.
Though, Tinubu has begun to bribe the catholic church - with the position he gave Bishop Kukah, shortly after the Catholic mafia visited him.

In politics - their are no coincidences. Nigeria's politics is so obvious, but our people are mostly uneducated, so they don't understand.

When Saraki said that Pdp governors are not funding Pdp, it got me thinking. The opposition parties are doing the same evil things that Apc is doing- stealing state money to fund something else. You can't complain about Tinubu's corruption if you voted for Atiku.

When Obasanjo and Atiku were rigging Buhari 20 years ago, they didn't know that they would be at the receiving end of the same rigging 20 years later. They are now regretting not cleaning up the system when they had the opportunity.

If the opposition parties want to show seriousness, they should transform the states that they control. Driving from an Apc state into a Pdp state should be like driving from Zimbabwe into South Africa. A situation where some Apc governors, like Zulum, are actually doing better than most Pdp governors, shows the level of seriousness of the opposition coalition.
