Firstly, it's parents responsibility to monitor their kids online activities not the government's. If parents want to protect their children from having access to these gadgets, maybe they shouldn't give their children access to the internet in the first place.

Secondly, issue of privacy: do people want the government having a database of their personal information?
I mean in today's world people are not okay with big Tech having their private info and now the government is now demanding for it.

Thirdly, what age verification method do they plan to use?
If it's just the "I agree I'm 18" button all explicit website already have that.
But if it's facial verification, how can they tell who's under age and who's not?
How do you tell the difference between a 17 year old and an 18 old using photo alone?

People need to analyse the law made by lawmakers critically else they may accidentally elect tyrants into office.
