I remember the previous long term ruler of the Congo - Mobutu - handing over the country to the French/Belgians (after killing Lumumba).

What did the Congo get after all those years of exploitation by the French/Belgians - absolutely nothing! The country is still a massive shithole.

Some of you don't follow up news. Not referring to you and quoting you doesn't infer that too.

Now, on this issue, the rebels backed by Rwanda and foreign powers like France or China are conquering cities in Congo and these cities are rich in resources. Congo on her own can't defeat these rebels and Rwanda. Last month, they pleaded directly to trump to come and help them in the war in exchange for unlimited access to minerals and Trump as a business accepted without hesitation. So the mineral deals you are hearing is Greek gift in exchange for weapons and military supports. Expect USA weapons, mercenaries and military advisers to start action.

Now what if the USA contracts the Wagner group from Russia to help underground operations? Now that's an impossible twist but remember it's Trump and Putins world.... anything is possible

Just imagine. Foreigners come to your country to overthrow the president and you allow them to back to their country. What the DRC should have done should have been to have exposed them and then immediately and outrightly execute them. Sending them to jail meant it was only a matter of time before America would pressure the DRC govt to release them in one way or the other. Outrightly executing them wouldn't have given the Americans that chance to negotiate their release. That's how it's done. Now these same prisoners would of course go back to the US and restrategize on how to effectively carry out another coup. Like one of the 48 laws of power says, you must brutally and completely annihilate your enemy because if you allow them live they'd come back some time to finish you off from where they stopped.

The black kid was the son of the coup leader, who was not Igbo or in any way Nigerian.

His mother is an American citizen.Not an Igbo woman at all or a Nigerian woman. She was divorced from the dad, but the young man had good relationship with both his dad and mum.
