Good morning people. I noticed that majority of users on this site live in Lagos.

Most of my childhood friends have traveled to Lagos.

That aside, I want to relocate to Lagos. I have an uncle that used to stay in orile (2018).

I can camp in his house for the main time.

If I come to Lagos, can I get a job that can pay me like 100k and above every month. I have my waec and neco. I just turned 25.

I feel if I change environment, things will begin to go well for me.. and I heard there are lots of jobs in Lagos.

Here in the east, no work or company. Only Keke bus business that's thriving

Please can I make it in Lagos? I need suggestions. This is a life changing decision please
Since you are sure of a free accommodation then 50 percent of your problem is solved.
You may come to Lagos

It's really shameful that with all the loud mouth and dick contest the Igbos on here do with better by far Yorubas, nothing works in their tiny SE region..

Lile the OP rightly said, it's only keke business and maybe ol0sho work for runs girls that is booming in the East.. yet you'll see them calling other tribes names, claiming they developed everywhere yet can't develop their 5 tiny plots of land

@OP Don't go to Lagos because the place is saturated with economic refugees and all sorts of criminal elements from all over the country, instead consider places like Abuja or Kaduna.

Let your uncle put you in his line of business, if it is a legit business.
Coming to Lagos to just hustle for factory job is not easy. The factory job may be located in a place far from where you are living
Transportation is a major expenses for most Lagosian. Also, be sure that the job is legit. Lots of scammers are on the prowl, looking for "magas" to chop. Non existing jobs are written on walls, on roads and pasted in market places, with the amount to be paid stated, asking one to call a certain number for the job - just beware. Lagos could be unforgiven to the newbies and uninformed
Let your uncle support you and guide you through. This is a culture among the Igbos that is being fast eroded. Uncles are no more behaving like uncle to their nephews and nieces. It was not like that before. Uncles were looked up to, especially the well -to-do and highly educated. The well-to-do uncle would take his brother's children and trained them in his trade and settle them, thus, sustaining the progress of the entire "umunna" kindred. Those in paid employment would help their nephews and nieces that have finished services, relocated to Lagos, with employment tips and vacancies. It is no more like that these days. Uncles sees their nephews as threat, especially, if their own children are not doing well. Everything now is competition in my place. The family bond and unity that once held sway, have been broken by the "enemy" and the entire kindred has disintegrated. angry
Na one mumu Yoruba man write that rubbish there

You think others don't have forefathers who lived in Lagos? Make una calm down with these nonsense bigotry on Nairaland. Most of you exude uneducated and dangerous thought process.
Once you are cornered, you start claiming to be more educated than others.
I bet my 6-year-old kid has more education than you will ever have in your life.

When you and your forefathers call out others from the North, it's ok, but when we do the same thing, then it's bigotry.
Na hypocrisy go kee you and your unborn generations.

If you have discussed with your uncle and he gives you permission to stay in his house then I see no reason for further delay.

Come to Lagos because there are better opportunities here than in the east.

One word of advise - we don't tolerate any rubbish about IPOB here so leave everything you know about IPOB in the east before you relocate to Lagos!
I am in lagos and I talk about IPOB and there's nothing you lots can do, you're just a barking toothless dog

Nekede sir. I don't know how to drive truck but I can learn fast sir. I promise you I will learn it fast sir
There is no easy way. You young men want to 'hammer fast', because you see your peers who are fraudsters buying cars and houses. Then you feel pressured.

No one wants to learn a trade and put in the work anymore. To see a level-headed young man ready to serve for 4-5 years in apprenticeship is like looking for a needle in a haystack..

Go learn a trade in Onitsha, Aba or Nnewi.
There are even a lot of Yorubas in Aba doing extremely well in fashion design, shoe designs.

Wetin dey for Sokoto, e dey for your shokoto (pocket).

I need your help please. I want to change location. I want to make move please
That is Orile iganmu not orile agege You can stay there and save up to start life. Don't copy the lifestyle of the jobless boys in that vicinity. Have a plan before coming to Lagos so you don't regret. I encourage you to come though.

You are just a lazy man that want to go and start disturbing your uncle. There are opportunities everywhere just open your inner eye to see them . Salary work can never make you rich, the same east you want to run away from have millions of people making it. The future belongs to entrepreneurs, that's what we have in abundance in the east, not people looking for jobs
