Well, I don't think there's any pressure there. The best option is to pursue all the options at the same time all within the limits she can control. I were her, I would go for my PHD immediately knowing that my Dad is ready to sponsor me and while at that, I would intensify career or skills that will enhance my independence. If marriage comes, good; if not, I will keep working on getting a good job that will help me to be independent.
