I keep wondering if the Supreme Court actually said all this they are saying about the judgment and they the LP members have not gone ahead to inform the SC judge or the Chief Justice of the Federation to hold Abure in contempt of going against the SC judgement !??

In the judgement I read which still is not clear to me......the judge made mention that political parties should put a time line as to the duration of the positions of elective officers so I was wondering if in the LP constitution has in it the duration of when an elective officer should serve and vacate ........

At the bolded, whilst he wasn't given access to Obidients donated money, he used the momentum to cash out big time, and I mean big time at least in Edo state.

"Someone" made a lot of money from selling Senate and house of assembly electoral positions to the highest bidder.

In fact there was so much unchecked restlessness where "someone" sold a house of assembly position, realised another person in another party was willing to pay a lot more, and simply corrected the mistake by forging a resignation letter to collapse the LP candidacy.

I suspect, but can't prove, that Chinedu Gbadebo, who has zero political or administrative history and had the nerve to want to be governor of a state with a huge economy like Lagos, might have also paid monies to get that candidacy.

It is laughable when some people claim whiter than white, we really should take them at face value as they are even worse than the normal cast of rogues.

The matter of Abure was gone the moment supreme court stated that the lower courts that pronounced him as the authentic national chairman of LP had no jurisdiction to interfere in party matters!

In other words,it validates the initial stance of INEC who had refused to recognize Julius Abure as the national chairman of LP because they were not present at the national convention held by Abure at Nnewi,Onitsha!

INEC refusal to recognize the leadership of Abure not only invalidates the national convention on 27 March,2025 but also renders any NWC created by him as a nullity!

The initial position taken by INEC can be likened to an EPL game between Manchester united vs Manchester city with no referee sent to officiate the game!
No matter the outcome of the game,it stands invalid and inconsequential without the umpire!
The only way such game can be made authentic is for the game to be replayed with a referee officiating!
Hence,The only way for INEC to recognize the LP leadership is for a national convention to be held again with the right things done which is participating and performing their over site functions as an umpire in LP's ward to LGA to state congress to national convention!

Do small findings before coming online to display your ignorance. Abure's tenure has ended, but he is using all means to stay back, going to court up and down. Even INEC stop recognizing him as the party chairman because he's supposed to step down, he sued INEC. Now, Supreme Court has told him that his tenure has ended, but he still doesn't want to step down. I don't know what's wrong with black people!

The issue of Abure and that of Apapa are two different things. If you had some just some findings, you wouldn't be displaying this ignorance online.

If Abure wanted LP to become a proper opposition,he should have had the foresight to listen to those who advised him to do an all inclusive national convention from bottom to top with the all important stakeholders present including the electoral umpire INEC!

How can Abure and LP be talking against the misrule of the Tinubu administration when he could not even conduct a simple national convention that was free,fair and credible?

This is actually false and a wrong narrative spread probably by Abure's errand boys!
Anyone who followed Abure knew how he used the platform on SM to receive huge monetary donations on behalf of the party and Obi's popularity to cash out in the last election!
There had been so many allegations against Abure from governorship aspirants who had on different occasions accused him of substituting their names for another candidate due to monetary inducements!

But if I may ask.....what is LP without Obi?
Abure should be grateful that Obi even gave him the limelight as a national chairman and support against those who had tried to undermine his leadership!

If LP must have the audacity to speak as an opposition against the ruling party APC,then their party must put their house in order by conducting a proper and all inclusive national convention that is free,fair and credible not the charade called a convention that was conducted at Nnewi Anambra by Abure and his cohorts in the absence of key stakeholders and the umpire INEC!

And I must say that unfortunately, Obi and his group are suffering from two things.

One is not understanding the processes and procedures of LP probably because he joined so close to an election and did not acquaint himself well with the party laws

Second is not getting himself involved in what happens with the party after the election, more like how Atiku usually treats the PDP.

Regardless of anyone's interpretation of the SC judgement, what is obvious from both sides is that Abure played a fast one. He organised a convention because he knew their party law does not demand state congresses be held before convention unlike other parties. LP constitution has slight differences from those of PDP and APC that everyone is familiar with. It is those differences that's led Obi and his group into a ditch now and it's easy to see why the FHC and CoA agreed with Abure as chair if you read the LP constitution. It is only the SC's decision that gave Obi a lifeline.

My candid advice to Obi is to either find a way to get the NWC too suspend Abure or he leaves the party. This is because as it is now, the SC judgement is neither here nor there. The claim that it sacked Abure is not true. You can say it gave inec leeway to not recognise Abure but it definitely did not sack Abure.

Besides, does INEC's absence necessarily invalidate a convention? Especially since the reason why they boycotted the convention is not clear. I know the electoral law demands that INEC be present to observe proceedings at every party meeting or convention but does their absence invalidate a convention? I believe the FHC answered that question when it recognised Abure. Note that Usman and the caretaker committee joined the case at appeal. I just need clarification on these matters
