Haha, even if they're grade B cells, 800k for 8kwh is absurd. I love it. At 75A continuous discharge, that's still almost 2000w available.

Great deal for most people as long as the cells are properly matched and balanced.

Abysmal list. Do what the guy above said instead.

You can buy a 3kva+ 24v hybrid from brands like Cworth, Powmr, Welion for under 400k all day.

Buy 4 550w Jinko panels for 500k.

Installation and accessories - 300k

That's 1.2m

Then buy the biggest 24v Lifepo4 battery your budget will allow. wink
still same thing now. Only he may be getting better chemistry for backup.

Pardon my newbie question o, is it okay that battery capacity is larger than inverter capacity?
That's exactly how it should be.

Think of a battery as the overhead water tank in your house. And the inverter is your tap.

You need a large tank, but you don't necessarily need a huge tap running in your kitchen.

There's also no direct technical correlation between the two actually, as long as they're at the same voltage.

Battery is a tank, same way power bank capacity is bigger than phone batteries in most cases

Hi, can this be made in such a way it can be mobile? Like a power station I can carry around?
Buy power station instead.... They are lighter and more affordable

Gurus in the house, please with my inverter turned off and no output at all, why's there still a power draw of 0.48w going on?

Your screen is on, you do realize that energy has to come from somewhere?

0.48w is literally nothing.

BigDickProblems:
Good day Guys, my MPPT and PWM controllers are acting funny today.

I recently noticed that my Felicity controller limits the charging current from panel these days. Usually, I get around 10Amps on a good day which is enough to get my battery full even b4 1pm. But these days, I see a limit of around 7Amps.

Today I switched my connection to PWM (my PWM charges faster but does not control floating) and got around 18Amps. But one thing I noticed is that using the PWM, the solar wire is extremely hot, but with the Felicity controller, it’s not hot. Meaning that my Felicity takes more time to completely charge my battery these days.

Please what could be the reason for this?

Edit: No, it’s not the weather pls.
Found a solution to this by changing the cable that connects my battery and my MPPT controller just as @ HeavenlyBang had suggested. I cut out the new cable from one abandoned laptop charger, because I felt it’s also a Dc cable anyways.

Lo and behold, for the first time in a million years, got a current of 12.4Amps (from a previous 6.5Amps from the old cable). I don’t know if my MPPT is wyning me for now😂, but I just hope it stays this way.

Thanks a lot @HeavenlyBang

Observation
This means that PWM does not have the functionality of deducing internal resistance as the MPPT, cos obviously the PWM just throws all the currents (about 18Amps) coming from the PV into the old cable and makes it extremely hot when touched. Unlike the MPPT, which figures it out and sends a current suitable for the cable to charge without being extremely hot.
I stand to be corrected pls.

Glad you got that fixed but please buy a proper cable. Laptop chargers aren't built for high currents either.

Good day everyone...

Pls what size of MPPT Charge controller can I use for a two 590W panel, 3000W inverter, and a 12V 100ah battery setup?

Initially I was planning to use a 30A Felicity MPPT charge controller but I was told it will be too small for the two 590W.
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Mrreed(m): 7:13pm On Apr 12, 2025
80a and the market price of this will almost get you a 12v 2kva transformerless inverter with 80a mppt.

Personally I will make use of the monos only:
38.2 × 4 = 152.8v for 24v (max cc 160v)
While the max VOC is 160v, its 105v max if using a 24v setup

Okay thanks for ur response.
How can I upgrade to 80A. The only size I see around here is 60A..

Mrreed:
If you can afford to spend the total here, here is a better option
There is a brand "Haisic" that sells
25.6v 8kwh for 800k (as contained in their spec sheet, it's a Grade B battery)
24v 4kva transformerless inverter 340-350k
590w Jinko panel x4 is better
6mm cable, breakers, SPD and the box will cost you less than 160k if you are staying in a bungalow and will be installing the system close to your DB
You the second person mentioning this battery brand, how well do they perform?
