Even if you have rehabilitated them, they have to be prosecuted by a court of law for the crimes they have committed!

So what about those that have spent more than a decade in the IDP camp?
Who will assist them to recover what the rehabilitated Boko members have destroyed?

This is why Nigeria will continue to be a cesspit of everything evil and deeply reprehensible.
It just has too many bagages weighing it down and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel at least not with these criminals running the country down.
We need a leader like Traore who wants nothing more than the best for his people.

Someone has been a terrorist for at least 2 years. Carried out several operations that led to loss of lives of civilians and military personnel. He may have even killed a certain number of persons.

You arrest him, instead of prosecution after extracting information from him, you choose to “de-radicalize” and reorientate him in just under 2 weeks and release him back into the society he ones tormented directly or indirectly while tagging him “repentant” terrorist.

Whoever came up with this idea and suggested it to the government, President and military officials should be brought for questioning why he or she is lenient with perceived terrorists.
Nigerian or Northern leaders are responsible for terrorism, it's just a political tactics for them... The Ogas in the army are in for it for their own financial gains.

If Nigeria government wants to end terrorism in just 3 months, they can do so.

Nigeria is a zoo where animáls of different forms dwell in form of humans perpetuating all forms of atrocities.

Pansophist was once a glorifier of this zoo called Nigeria. But he is now repented.

We are still calling on Gerrard59 to repent, so he can be reintegrated into the society for a better sane society.

Whoever glorifies this zoo is a heartless human being.

One thing I know is people are getting very rich from the program. Everything concerning Boko Haram in Nigeria is a source of wealth, for blood sucking soldiers and civilians.

Hope The government is putting tracking device on them before releasing them back to the society. So they can easily be tracked if they go back to their previous way

This is why many people believe that the FG is in cahoots with the terrorists.

It's a symbiotic relationship of "chop and clean mouth".

Government officials and the terrorists are smiling to the bank at the detriment of the victims.

Terrorism has come to stay!

So sad!

Up to six domestic staffs from Patience Goodluck's kitchen cabinet has been in jail for more than six years, no release, no pardon, no rehabilitation.

Yet people who commited crimes as heinous as KP, terrorism and banditry and being pardoned.

God have mercy

A Yoruba presidency kowtowing to Alimi.

When Buhari was there, terrorists were treated with respect. Now that Tinubu a Yoruba man is there, terrorists are treated with same respect.

Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas have ran the ciuntry aground. They've shown inability to run the federal govt
PresidObi:
Any terrorists caught in the north is rehabilitated, housed and fed on taxpayers expense, later released to the society, totally forgiven.

Any "suspected" terrorists caught in the south is immediately executed and their villages bombed and destroyed, even occupied for many years.

It's still one country o.

And one constitution.

Started with Buhari but shocking Tinubu who is neither from the North or Fulani is treating terrorists with respect.

Tinubu is a disaster

The terrorists America captured from Afghanistan were sent to Guantanamo bay for years. Soldiers in world wars were obeying military command. The hutus were not terrorists per se but two nationalities clashing with the intention of genocide but thats not defind as terrorism because once peace was brokered, it ended.

The bokoharam are killing people, bombing, killing soldiers without cause but to capture a part of the country and introduce their own radical islamism so they should be arrested atleast for years or executed.

You're comparing apple to orranges. If the insurgency is over, you can rehabilitate those who surrendered but not when the war is unending.
nairalanda1:
If you like call me Boko.

The harsh truth is that when you have large numbers of thugs caught by the government in war situation like this, the least worst situation is to rehabilitate them

Killing them will only produce the next generation of radicals. Jailing them is good, but the same thing.

Liberia and Sierra Leone are filled with ex soldiers from all them rebel groups who got some money and a radio when the war was ended. People who commited horrible atrocities. People like general butt naked who is now a pastor

Hell, there are many Hutu people who were involved in the 94 genocide. Many of them were sent to some traditional judge who just gave them slaps on the wrist. Many never went there..no rehab self.

Even at the end of world war 2 , most of the solders responsible for the atrocities of the war were never prosecuted. Just The leaders. One of them in his old age was even proudly talking about his activities on video. In public.

If you like call me Boko. But in 2009, Nigerian army solders videoed themselves shooting dead Boko millitants. The videos were used by Shekau to help recruit new thugs to the movement

And God knows I don't effing like it. If there was a way I could just gas any terrorist it would be good. But their relatives are going to cry for vengeance

Yes don't tell me, some of them go back

And yes, I am annoyed that Islam does not do much about it's radicals. This is not the seventh century, people.

Guantanamo bay was also a great recruiting theme for islamists.

It may have made the situation worse

Once it has ended, you can do pardon and rehabilitation but not when its never ending.

You're only continuing the cycle of terror and demoralizing the solders by recycling terrorists

Bokoharam and banditry will stop if Southern Nigeria separates from the North
