That said this clowns do not know the meaning of what a federation is .. saying the North has been at the receiving end of developing FCT abuja and is being treated unfairly is very dishonest,also saying indigenous people of kogi, nassarawa,Kaduna niger should be given more priority..it seems this people forgot the main reason why the capital was moved from lagos ...its because of the indigens problem.. government has moved yhe indigenous people of abuja and the communities compensated to othee neighboring state..none of them can lay claim to any land ..if not series of casea would av been in the supreme court.

Abeg the should stop creating problem where there is not with all this their mushroom organization.

As good as it might sound trying to democratize the FCT, it is far from being properly framed and a little too far from being logical and realistic. How reasonably practicable is it having three FCTs?. The operating word here is " federal" - meaning each region would be a host to the three arms of Government ( executive, legislative and judiciary). How possibly can we replicate three three National Assemblies, three Executives and three Supreme Courts?. Of all the three arms, the Supreme Court appears the most practicable, it kind of makes sense having Supreme Court each in Lagos, PH and Abuja, it definitely going to save lots of time and stress going all the way to Abuja for a final verdict.
I have heard Senior Advocates clamour for at least one magistrate court in each Local Government.
Several countries that practice multiple capitals did that by locating an arm of Government at separate locations. For instance, a particular city houses the executive capital (the seat of power), another city houses the legislative capital while a third city houses the judicial capital. It would therefore be more reasonable and better suited if Nigeria could replicate the same arrangement, if there will ever be a consideration at all. Lagos as the Legislative Capital, PH as the Judicial Capital while Abuja retains the Executive Capital.Otherwise, the most acceptable idea will be to give special status to both Lagos and PH while Abuja continue being the sole FCT.

You got it right. Even in South Africa, they have multiple state capitals and this eases friction in the leadership of the country.

They should make Lagos FCT. Abuja in the North, Lagos in the South. Federal government money developed Lagos. If they want PH, they should make Kano FCT too.

He is correct . Lagos should must be redesignated FCT either now or in future because Lagos though geographically located close to Yoruba land doesn’t belong to Yorubas but to the whole Nigerians

They thought Lagos would go down, but unfortunately, it continues to grow in leaps and bounds. In the nineties, infrastructure started collapsing in Lagos as the FG abandoned the city to concentrate fully on Abuja, and even till today, there are many abandoned FG properties in Lagos. It's obvious some people miscalculated, and now they look back with regret.

But with our current democratic structure, it's almost impossible to return Lagos as FCT, as there are so many complicated stakeholders to deal with, where will you even start from?

Northerners have always believed that Abuja is their colony until Tinubu came and make a southerner the FCT minister for the first shocking time. Now, I guess they intend to reciprocate that by making northerners the FCT ministers in the proposed southern FCT.

As someone has correctly argued, it will only be that other FCTs will have to be built from the scratch just like Abuja was built.

Well, talking of regional offices, the federal government already has giant federal secretariats in most states, with most of the ministries represented. Why does the country need 2 additional capitals.

By the way, only last year, some Northerners led by Senator Ndume, were screaming on social media, that 'Tinubu wants to destroy the North', just because a small team within the CBN was moved from Abuja to Lagos where more than 90% of bank headquarters are located.

Suddenly, some of them are now duplicitously proposing Abuja's capital status be disintegrated and shared with other cities.

What changed? I know what has changed. Nothing.

It is a back door attempt at control. For them, Lagos is becoming too economically and financially powerful.

The suggestion of Port Harcourt as a potential 3rd capital is a ruse. The real target is Lagos.

Every state can be more developed than Lagos, Rivers and Abuja if only those states elect capable leaders instead of leaders only interested in sharing and equity.

The North will never develop with this kind of mindset, The future of Nigeria is in the regions and not the FCT

South Africa used the same strategy.. with about three different capitals around the country in J'burg, Pretoria and Cape Town all developing side by side..

But unlike Abuja that took from the center because there is no resources there, those two states of Lagos and rivers would be the ones feeding the center.

The northerners now want the same right to the resources and opportunities present in those states like an indigene, where they can crowd themselves in.
