As Christians, Do We Honour The Father More Than We Honour Jesus Christ? by tctrills(op): 6:45pm On Apr 12, 2025
My question is more like, can we separate the honour of the Father from that of the Son? Do we give greater honour to the Father and a lesser degree of honour to the Son or do they share the same honour?

God is not man. He has given Him a name exalted above every other name...that in the name of Jesus, every knee must bow, in heaven and on earth. And, Himself and the Father are 1. And if He is exalted, He will draw all men unto Himself. The mystery of divinity trumps human logic.

So do you have an answer to my question or are you saying that the answer to the question trumps human understanding?
Again, I am not asking you to depend on human understanding. You can depend on the revealed word.

You can separate their identities but not their nature! John 5:23 exemplifies this!

In summary, they share the same Honor. If you honor the Son you honor the Father viz a viz!

Sir.
You can't honour the Father and dishonour the Son. You can't honour the Son and dishonour the Father. Whenever the son is honoured, the honor is to the Father.
Straightly answer your question.
The Son is honoured just as the Father is honored.
John 5:23
[23]so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.

Thanks.

How would this question edify the body of believers? Don't you think this question falls within the realm of question Scripture commands us to shun?

Sorry I was not aware that there is a question police in Christiandom that governs what and what not to ask.
Again any question that makes you know more about the relationship between the Father and his Son should edify any Christian.
Any question that makes you understand his doctrines and teachings will definitely edify you if you are a well meaning Christian.
One more thing, if you felt the question was not appropriate, why did you attempt to answer it?

He is who is higher and greater receives higher honor

What do you mean by honour?
You don't need to honour anything, scriptures says believe whom God has sent and you will be saved, simple.

Do you think God is eating honor like wicked men that want to be honored all the time?

HONOUR TO CHRIST : GLORY TO GOD.

@color-red part is a bit disinformation.

Pay attention to John 5:23 you quoted @color-blue, Jesus was basically saying is that THE EXACT HONOR ONE GIVES TO THE FATHER IS THE SAME HONOR TO BE GIVEN TO THE SON.

We can then ask, how do we honor the Father?

Nothing like separation of honor.

Jesus demands THE SAME HONOR GIVEN TO THE FATHER.

Sir
I am a peace maker. Why are you finding fault. Where is the disinformation in my statement that whenever the son is honoured, the Father is honored?
Is that not the second part of Jesus statement in that John 5:23?
John 5:23
[23]so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.

Does that not mean that anyone who honors the son honours the Father? Which in turn means honouring the son is equivalent to honouring the Father.

Thanks.
