Absolutely much ado about nothing! If she decides to be true to herself and finish the food to her satisfaction, some guys will still find issues with it. I rather advise ladies to be true to theirselves, if the guy doesn't accept you as you are, there is no need because any small imperfection of the lady, he will be thinking about his image in front of his friends in regards to his girlfriend.

Such low class behavior is a turn off, regardless of your gender. Some people are food lovers and can't control themselves at social gatherings. This reminds me of a lady back in my undergraduate days that went out with a guy to an eatery. She was served with a a glass of yorghurt, but her hungry self requested for another until she gulped about 7 glasses of yorghurt. That was very low, and any right thinking human would have a rethink whether they should continue with the relationship. Yuck...
